Eotech that will work with A-2 post sight.......

Ok Eotech and AR gurus,my question is this.Which Eotech sight model will work with the A-2 post front sight on an M&P-15 SPORT? thanks in advance...

What do you mean by "work with"?

If you are talking about co-witnessing, that is a combination of your optic and both the front & rear sight.

Want to lower 1/3 co-witness? Try the 517. It sits 7mm higher than a 512.

As shown here on my AR.

For the non-night vision AA battery models, those would be the ones.

BTW, that 517 will move forward a few more notches if needed. The nose of it clears a standard handguard.

A 516 also offers a lower 1/3 cowitness. The 516 and 517 are essentially the same sight; the 516 is the CR123 version and the 517 is the AA version.

How about the EXPS2 7MM raised base will that be same as 516.

Yes, any Eotech with the 7mm raised base, such as the EXPS series, is the same height as a 516/517. The XPS and a few others sit lower and need a separate 7mm riser to do a lower 1/3 cowitness.

I'd advise trying both the absolute and 1/3 co-witness. I've been doing some shooting with an absolute co-witnessed Aimpoint Pro and a 1/3 witnessed EOTech lately and there are significant differences is the speed to acquire sight alignment when shooting with the RDS.

What I'm leaning toward is co-witnessing the front sight with the lower pip on the EOTech ring

I am running the EXPS2 on a LWRC 5.56 Pistol and co witness is fine. It is a great compact site.

I have a 553 that is for the lower 1/3 co witness. It is for sale on Ebay now for $499. I loved it but now use a scope. Do a search and check it out!

If you don't have a 517, 516 or EXPS model, you can use a riser like this to get the sight or scope up and over the front sight.
