I recently ordered a set(3)of Ergo Grips Full Rail Covers for one of my M4gerys, the intention was to dress up a Troy Industries Drop In(DI)battle rail with them.
This particular Troy battle rail is IMO the best non-FF rail you can install on an M4 type carbine, it bolts together after being afixed to the delta ring with zero movement, and I mean zero, its perfectly appropriate for optics which no other two piece non-FF rail is as far as I'm concerned.
The DI battle rail has eight(8)points where the ribs of the rail are wider then the others, they've been opened so the operator may afix other equipment such as slings ect.. These points are fore & aft on the four sides of the rail, thus the issue with the Ergo Grip(Falcon industries manufactured)full rail covers.
These rail covers are not cheap, made of santoprene, they clasp securely over the entire rail and are quite beefy, with good texture for gripping, and a solid protective feel. Unfortuneately these rail covers also come equipped with internal ribs(6), these to enhance the interface between rail & rail cover by slipping securely into the slots between the ribs on the rails!
The problem is that these internal ribs align perfectly with any of the wider rail ribs on the rail itself, the effect being that they ride above them and will not seat properly, this results in an out of proportion look and feel to these covers, this because they bulge up and out from the rail at those particular points! You can try to cut them with an exacto knife, but its still frustrating that this would be required of such an expensive accessory($50.00 with shipping)! I've included a photo so you folks can see exactly what it is I'm talking about, the Ergo rail cover afixed to the top rail for emphasis.
So if you happen to have this particular rail, you'll want to try elsewhere for a good set of covers.

Such things to occur when a multitude of manufacturers offer parts for the same platform. They were independently designed. I am thinking of building an AR someday after I get my M1 project done. I am pretty sure I am going to get the Daniel Defense BCG as I have heard good things. I am leaning toward a Matched Upper and Lower from ? with a good parts kit. I am intrigued by the Nitrided barrels and would probly go with a 18" one of those. I am leaning toward 18" midlength.
