I just purchased my first shotgun, and have been amusing myself by trying to refer to it differently each time I mention it in conversation. Unfortunately, I'm more gregarious than innovative, and am running out of clever things to call it.

So I'm putting out the call for funny and/or original terms by which to refer to a Mossberg 500 pump-action 12-gauge shotgun with a black polymer stock.

Here's my anemic list so far:

Scattergun
Street Sweeper
Boomstick
Smoke Pole
Firestick
Trench Broom

Help me out, people.

P.S. - I've never actually used "pictiger" before, so I hope that image works.

Yeah a lot of people just seem to refer to them as shotties now. Shotty singular. Pump shotty, auto shotty, etc. Example: "The AT shotty is the best unlock in BF2- it kills fools."

Heard boomstick before. The rest have been used, but I dont think they really entered common usage.

Streetsweeper is an actual specific shotgun. I beleive it was later exported as the protecta-12 and striker-12. They are all made in south africa. They are neat guns except for how they take a million years to reload and have to be cranked to feed properly.

None of these really qualify as euphamisms as people generaly dont regard shotgun as a dirty word. I just generally refer to politically contentious weapons like AKs as "rifles" etc, the saiga-12 as a "hunting shotgun" etc. Lol politician.

Okay so I like simple - sue me. :p

I often just call whatever shotgun, or any platform what it is. Model 94, Model 70, 1911, K frame, SX1, 870, Model 12...etc.

Now there are few guns that Earned nicknames. Money Gun - that would be a certain Circa 1957 870 Wingmaster in 28 ga with best guess over 300k rds thru it.

Remington went thru the gun and refinished it back y-e-a-r-s ago. It has extra stocks, and parts, including a trigger group as it was / is most often shot with the safety removed. Yes legal, just inform RO / SO as one does if shooting release triggers. Side gun events like pump gun, doubles with pump gun and "other assorted fun and games". One target for instance I felled was worth $500, oh and I won a ham with that shot too. WE shared that gun...it earned its name.

Now in certain circles I hung / hang with...one name is Copylefted to me...meaning I started referring to firearms as such and got the credit...sometimes I get blamed for stuff, this is one time I was credited with something...

Gadsen Gun.
Makes no nevemind what kind of gun, what platform, or what it shoots. I call it a Gadsen Gun. I did this back when the earth was flat and before folks wore onions on belts.

So if some folks recall back when..ever seen some folks show up to shoot some places and "sports" with a GGor GG-Group Logo or G^2 somesuch, that was us. WE dropped out of site as folks did in Atlas Shrugged and so these initials stood for Galt's Gultch and Gadsen Guns.

You won't find that in the History Books, or listening to Paul Harvey...;)

little friend....gotta admit Pacino made his points.

Say hello to my little friend.-Scarface
