Don't know what happened to the site, but I do know that Marshall and Sanow's work has been thoroughly discredited over the years. You can find many professional journals that have taken them to task on methodology and research, as well as criticisms in various gun mags. Their studies are rarely cited any more as they were not very well done.

As arrogantly ill-informed as he is about computers, I take everything else he says with a grain of salt.

One of the strangest gun forums with the most cockamamie rules and regulations that I've ever been on. Think I got banned for not agreeing with, 'the great man'; but I'm not really sure. Might have just dropped off the board in disgust and simply forgot about it.

In 6 years of posting on various gun boards, the only thing I remember Evan getting completely right was his analysis of what was (is) wrong with Glock's Model 36 - That examination was, 'spot on'.

"Evan and family are fine, they have some family issues, good ones, right now and are trying to upgrade the board at the same time. "

Glad to hear he's ok and look forward to reading his site again .. thanks for the info armoredman ..

Not sure if this is meant for me. If it is, I'm not sure what you mean by it. Just stating what I have learned doing research into terminal ballistics over the years. Sorry if you disagree. Check it out for yourself. It is not meant to be a reflection on the person, just methodology.

Now that we've settled the Evan question, I feel I can drift off course a tad.

I must have missed that bit of vital information.

I have one of the original G36s that floated over.

I've had it since 12/2000 or there abouts.
The gun was made on 10/2000.
I haven't had any trouble with it!!

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

I got banned for "referring to another website without permission"... without ever having referred to a website.

It was like listening to Barbara Boxer explain a "barrel shroud".

He didn't like the Aguila IQ ammunition. I asked why. He said that the petals separated. I asked why that was bad. For some reason, he didn't think that merited any explanation.

Being on that forum was like being married to Joan Crawford. It was sort of interesting at first, but WAY too much work with WAY too much ego in play.

Are you all Facklerites? :)

I try to keep an open mind with stopping power info but I do agree with a fair amount of what Marshall says and a bit of what Fackler says as well.

For one I dislike 147gr 9x19 jhp for most applications but to each is own.

Waiting patiently for Evan to get his site up and running again.

I like it there because they don't bad mouth others like some of the above posters.

Over the years I have found that those that find fault with his work usually don't know what they are talking about and have never taken the time to read AND UNDERSTAND it.

Evan is a fair man. A little hard and rough around the edges maybe. But fair. If he boots you off his forum, you deserved it.

Been a member of his forum for a long time now. There's no BS there. Only truth and facts by some of the most experienced people in law enforcement, military, and training facilities.

Once it's back, I invite you to see for yourselves. But only if you can behave.

But only if you can behave.
In order to "behave" one has to know what the required "behavior" is. That's pretty much impossible when the one mandating that "behavior" can't clearly define what constitutes that "behavior", and in fact doesn't know himself.

It's one thing for the state to prohibit "speeding". It's quite another for the state to not define the speed limit, or worse, to ticket you for speeding based on the brand of tires on your car.

He has the ten rules that are stickied to the top of EVERY page you open on the forum.

I made an error once by posting a link to a type of 3913 grip which duplicated the ergonomics of an original 39, but I wasn't banned. I'd learned my lesson, and Evan told me "No feathers ruffled."

However, I asked for my membership at that board to be revoked when one of his sub moderators became obscene and belligerent about the ASCII art in my signature line. Evan, however, has never been belligerent, nor claimed that his opinions are solid fact. He's stated more than once after decades of work, he's still learning, and he passes all new information on as best as he can.

The rules are clearly posted. What can't you read or comprehend?

Matter of fact. Don't bother.
