Every time i shoot my Glock 26...

...I come away more impressed. I believe it may be, at least for me, the perfect compact full-caliber weapon. It is surprisingly accurate, has been 100% reliable, shoots to point of aim with all the loads I've tried in it, and although it feels a bit awkward in my hand when I'm not shooting it, that awkwardness disappears completely when I start sending bullets downrange. When I'm shooting it, it feels wholly natural, like an extension of my hand. I actually shoot it a bit better than I shoot my G22, and that's saying quite a bit.

My G26 is primarily a concealed carry gun for me, but I would have no worries whatsoever about using it as a home defense gun. I carry it with a flush-fit 10 round mag in the gun, with an extended factory 12 rounder as a spare. My usual carry load is the Federal 9BPLE 115 grain +P+ JHP.

I can heartily recommend the Glock 26 to anyone seeking a reliable, accurate, powerful and "shootable" subcompact concealed carry pistol.

Who else here relies on the superb little G26?

No, no, no....Glocks are ugly, plastic guns that aren't worth half the price of what they cost. Oh, wait a minute, I love me G26 (and G19) also. I feel the same way you do.....Accurate and reliable is all I ask for and the Glock fits the bill for sure.

While I own and like mine, it is NOT a pocket-carry size gun; therefore, if you are using an IWB or OWB, the 19 seems to offer a little more capacity, balance and sight radius

I carry IWB and I find that the shorter butt of the G26 aids in concealment. And since I shoot the G26 as well as I do I don't worry about the sight radius. As for capacity, the G26 is an 11 or 13 shot pistol (with the factory +2 extended mag), and, if desired, a G17 or 19 mag could be carried as a spare.

I carried a G26 for almost a year, finally had enough of it even with a Pearce mag extension it still did not fit my hand right. I got rid of it and now carry a Springfield Ultra Compact in 45ACP, much better handgun with my big hands..

Well you can use the G19 mags, or G17 mags for that matter, in a G26 and add a spacer for a bigger grip.

And then you can use the smaller mags for when you need a more concealable pistol.

I can't say I carry mine a -whole- lot (mainly t shirt and short most of the time here in SC), but I do really appreciate my G26. Eats any ammo I care to feed it, goes BANG every time I pull the trigger.

The G26 is an EXCELLENT gun. I've described it many times as close to the perfect handgun as possible... You can shoot it at the range with extreme accuracy out to +50 yards, it feeds and runs like a sewing machine, and it's an excellent size for conceal carry.

Back when I could afford only "one gun" and it had to do everything - it was a G26.

I think it is the least compromise you will find in a small gun. With the exception of people with very large hands, it is as close to the perfect concealed carry weapon you will find.

Notice I said least compromise, not smallest or most concealable. You can get a smaller gun that shoots 9mm, but there are gonna be big trade offs.

Don't have one, but if my 19 and 21 are any kind of examples, I'd love one. Here's the thing... don't care what it looks like, 'cause it goes bang with no excuses everytime I pull the trigger. (ok, only when it's loaded...) Nothing is as beautiful as a reliable, accurate gun.

Everytime I fire my 26 , I wonder how it does so well. The only Glock I've fired that will beat it is my 17L ,and then not by much !

Yeah, well all that is pretty much true. I love my G26 too though. Does a whole lot right and throws in the ugly for free.

The G26 is my personal favorite among all Glock models. Something about the shortened grip/backstrap simply fits in my hand better than the slightly larger G19. I shoot it well and find it very practical for my needs (which were off-duty and now retirement CCW).

After firing upwards of 11,000 rounds through my first g216, I pi8cked up a second at the end of last year. Something to help absorb the wear & tear of the shooting I do.

It's nor particularly my "favorite" smallish 9mm. That would be a toss-up between my 3913, CS9 & SW999c ... but it is a fine, serviceable little defensive carry pistol for the caliber.

As an armorer for several makes/models of firearms normally seen in LE work, including Glocks, M&P and the P99/SW99 series, I've found maintaining Glocks is about as simple as it gets. (Read the manual.)

I also own a G27. It was my second choice when I originally decided to get around to adding a Glock to my working collection, and although I chose the G26 over G27, I came upon an outstanding deal on a LNIB G27 w/night sights that was too good to ignore.

I've fired more rounds through the G27 than I have the G26, oddly enough, but it requires a bit more effort and practice to master because of the cartridge's recoil characteristics ... and mastering the G27 has the additional benefit of making the G26 seem even easier to shoot well (even with +P and +P+ loads being used in the G26).

If I had to choose all over again, between the G26 & G27, knowing everything I do and having fired all that ammunition in both models ... I'd again choose the G26.

Dandy little example of a good quality, smallish 9mm.

Now, the M&P 9c, on the other hand ... it's an outstanding little 9. Slightly larger than the G26, but the grip inserts (which also change the palm swell, and not just the backstrap dimensions) make it seem thinner and smaller. Nicely ergonomic, well balanced, accurate and surprisingly controllable with +P loads.

I might have to pick one up sometime, and just when I thought I already owned enough excellent small 9's, too. If I'd have handled and tried one on the range before I'd bought my M&P 40c, I'd have bought the 9c, instead.

I don't mean to rain on your G26 love parade, but I've never understood the cult following for this gun. My friend has a G26. He's very proud of it, almost to the point where he's obnoxious about it.

While at the range one day, he loaded up the magazine, sat it back down on the tray in front of him, and invited me to shoot his G26. Well, since I had never shot a Glock before, I took him up on his offer. I shot a few rounds and then set the gun back down on the tray. He was surprised that I didn't empty the magazine.

Reflecting upon my G26 experience later that day, I found myself concentrating on how uncomfortable and awkward the G26 was. I decided that the G26 (pretty much all Glocks) were not for me.

That was several years ago. Since then, the Gen 4 has hit the shelves. I'll be the first to admit that Glock has finally moved in the right direction for people who do not have average-sized hands. However, they still need to thin the grips out a bit more in order for me to want to purchase a G17/G19. We shall see if that ever happens.

I just recently picked up a G26 with ghost ring sights and I love it. I didn't really care for the G19 I had awhile back (traded it off for an xbox), but the 26 fits my hands just right, and points almost as naturally as my 1911.

Is ANYONE really still questioning the reliablity of Glock pistols? (Except for MAYBE the Gen 4.) Their 20+ years of service are a pretty solid foundation for quality.

IMHO saying a "Glock is reliable" is similar to saying the "Water is wet."

Lots are questioning them, but my gen4 19 and gen4 26 have been flawless. I carry either IWB or OWB...and yes even in shorts and a tshirt (although the tshirt requires IWB).

If I carry at 3 o'clock, I do prefer the shorter grip of the 26 since I'm not a wide guy. But if I shift to 4 o'clock carry, the 19 is just fine.

Slap some pierce grip extension on the magazines and it will likely make that awkward feeling go away, at least it did for me. Some guns feel ok with a 2 finger grip, the G26 is not one of them IMO.

Mine is my main CCW. It's a great gun.

My wife picked a G26 for her carry weapon after shooting several other models. She shoots it better than most of my other pistols. She actually shoots my S&W 325pd .45acp revolver better...but likes the Glock better for carry.

Oh geesh! You make it sound as if everything Glock makes is absolute gold. My friend's brand new G26 broke it's plastic recoil rod within the first 50 rounds. He was ticked when he had to spend another $50 to replace the plastic recoil rod with an all metal rod. Since then, admittedly, he's had no more problems with it. At the same time, he rarely gets an opportunity to take it to the range. Over the past four years, I'd be surprised if he's put a total of 500 rounds through it.

It seems to happen more with the G26/27. For the record I wish they came stock with steel recoil rods. I don't think it's crucial, but it sure is a nice touch.

The REAL advantage of the G26 over other CCWs....

1. Superb reliability
2. It's ruggedness. You can actually put thousands and thousands of rounds through this gun. And that is what you need to be able to do with your carry gun. If your carry gun can't function also as a "range gun", how will you ever become truly familiar to it?
