I have many reasons why I own many Ruger firearms, but this last encounter tops it all.

2 weeks ago I purchased a used Ruger Gunsite Scout from the LGS. I assumed that the box was complete with all its accessories. When I got home, I was surprised to only see 1 10 round and 2 5 round magazines. I went back to the LGS and asked if they had the accessories and told me that that was how they received it. I emailed Ruger requesting if they could send me the accessories. Yesterday, I recieved a packet of the stock spacers, gun lock, allen wrench and scope rings. And they charged me ZERO DOLLARS!

I agree.
In my experience, Ruger has the best customer service of ANY company, not just firearm company, I ever dealt with. I sent in a 54 year old bearcat I got in a trade, they called me and said it had frame damage, and could not be repaired, however, they would send me a BRAND NEW gun. Which they did. They also returned the grips from the old bearcat

^^^ I agree also. I bought an SP 101 in .38spl. back in 1995 new. I always shoot mild handloads. One day, about 10 years later, I was out plinking and shot the barrel clean off the frame. Took it back to the local gun shop where I had bought it. The owner had never seen anything like it befor. He sent it back to Ruger. So about 4 weeks later he calls and said 'your gun is back' and hung up. I get there, thinking this will be a $100.00, and he tells me no charge, not even postage. They even had reimbursed him for sending it to them. They rebarreled, retimed, and cleaned it. A really good company to deal with.

I just bought a new Ruger GP 100 .357. I looked thru all the papers & owner manual in the box but could not find a toll-free number, just in case. Any of you got it?

Pacsd,

check the ruger website nder contact. They are really good in answering emails.

NOTHING but good to say about Ruger's Customer Service dept.

Bought a NM Blackhawk that had a cylinder/forcing cone issue. Called them, they fitted a new cylinder to the gun, free of charge. I asked if they could install a screw in the grips (couldn't find a screw that fit) and they sent the gun back with NEW grips! :what:

And I still got back my old ones.

Of all the brands I have owned it was 2 different rugers that went back for some tlc. The first went full circle very quickly but was one of the rifle during a time that rugers barrels were not very good and was still not very good after it was returned. Its now a full on custom build.

Second was a MKIII pistol with ejection issues. 2 week turn around and has been more like a old mkII for a few years now. Great pistol and service.

I have had to call Ruger a few times in the past and have always been very pleased. The last call went like this: "oh, your 10/22 stock is missing its buttplate? We will send you a complete new stock set, sorry about that". About 5 days later, I got a complete stock set for my 10/22, not just a buttplate.:D

I'm currently working through an issue with Ruger and though I wish I wasn't, I feel like they take the matter seriously. Mark, Dan, and Gale are good people and it's the people that make the difference.

You just don't get that kind of service every day. Keep up the good work guys.

Just had my first experience with Ruger customer service last week. The transfer bar on my Blackhawk broke in half. The representative said they would send me a new one free of charge. I just received the replacement part in the mail today.

I agree. I try to go ruger when I can. Recently I have tried Smith-good, Sig-pretty good so long as I am original owner and Walther- we may see, hopefully not.

Ruger gets little credit.

I'm sure that this will offend some, but from what I see on various gun forums, the problem with Ruger service is that so many have to use it.

Owned probably 20 or so Rugers over the years, never had to send one back yet. I did call and ask a question or two though. Very friendly and answered each question fully.

I have had to send a few other guns back though.

Ruger repaired a nearly 40-year-old gun for me at no charge. :)

A couple of things to note: if you have an "old model" single action revolver that has not had the "safety conversion" put in it, they will install it whether you want it or not. They are also very "hard-nosed" about maintaining factory integrity. If you've "modified" any parts (e.g., "stoning" a hammer or pawl for a better trigger pull), they will spot it, remove them and replace them with original parts. This was done to the above-mentioned gun, an "old model" Super Blackhawk. It already had the safety conversion so this wasn't an issue.

Ruger has always been good in my books. I got a Ruger 10/22 LVT last year and a 22/45. All shoot really great.

I wrote to Ruger once, concerning mags for my SR9. I asked some questions regarding their price on replacement mags, and their availability. I also mentioned I could get the larger mags locally, but could not find a standard ten round mag that I prefer for CCW. I didn't really expect a whole lot in terms of a response. Imagine my surprise when a couple weeks later, I opened the mailbox to find an unexpected package....from Ruger! It contained a letter thanking me for taking the time to write them, along with a new 10 round magazine with both styles of baseplates! I thought that was beyond classy, and far exceeded my expectations
