My 28" long bull barrel in Savage Repeater Target Action is bedded into a H-S Precision stock, which positions the bipod 11" forward of the chamber. This places the barrel's balance ahead of the bipod, and puts rifle stability at a disadvantage. Weight can be added to the back end, but that's not a reliable solution since the pivot point still remains near the middle of the rifle. I'd like to move the bipod forward, which will reduce the impact of shoulder motion. Can anybody suggest a chassis system with extra-long tube or stock with extended forend that positions the bipod further forward, closer to the muzzle?
