Meaning the "issues" isn't at Cabela's end. Xtreme received the money for the bullets, but is choosing not to honor the rebate that they offered as enticement to order from them in the first place
While the issue technically isn't Cabela's, they own part of it for relying on a company that was knowingly on the verge of bankruptcy to distribute rebates to their customers. I would be knocking on Cabela's door and politely asking why the rebates they promised aren't being honored. If enough customers complain, something will happen. And if you get nowhere, go directly to the top, Johnny Morris. This is something that a reputable company should take care of to keep their customers happy. You have nothing by asking politely, and don't take no for an answer until you have hoisted their dirty undies up the flagpole.

They finally had .45 200gr flat points back in stock so I ordered 2000. $268 with $30 for shipping. Not a great price but I like the products and it only took a little over a week to get them even though I ordered late on a Friday night.

I like their bullets too, but I wonder if the $30 shipping is going to slow things down for them. I still got free shipping on my last 4K of 9mm at the end of July.

I live in Northern, CA. Guns laws here are getting more and more ridiculous here. I am more than willing to pay an across the border vendor a few bucks more to help them stay in business. I would like to move the NV when I retire in a year or two. Just gotta convince the wife;)

I had heard about internet ammo bans in CA, does that include components?

At this point you can still order comnponents. Cabella sent out a scare add to the contrary, so I took at look at the bill. It appeared to define ammunition as a loaded round, and X-treme told me they were operating under that understanding. Still, I have decided to keep several years supplies on hand. Lord knows what the little facists out here will come up with next.

Exactly what I have been doing.

TANSTAAFL; in other words, there is never "FREE shipping" (or anything else for that matter) SOMEwhere in the cost to you, the shipping has been added.

True, but it's easy enough to comparison shop while adding the product cost and shipping to see where you'll get the best deal.

I had a recent order from Powder Valley that I compared identical products to another supplier that offers flat rate shipping and lower Hazmat fee.

Powder Valley................Graf
Berrys Bullets 73.02........Berrys Bullets 81.99
WSP 140.00....................WSP 153.99
Win 231 152.50...............Win 231 168.99
Ship 15.95.......................Ship 7.95
Hazmat 19.95..................Hazmat 10.00
Total 401.42....................Total 422.92

Many members have pointed out when some vendors offer specials/sales along with free shipping promotions, prices of products were raised (I have personally seen this many times).

I comparison shop for final "ship to door" cost.

I comparison shop for final "ship to door" cost.

I have done this with many suppliers, both online sellers and local sellers and in many cases I find that on orders that are under $250.00 that include Hazmat fees it is usually cheaper overall to buy locally even though individual item costs may be slightly higher.

In this vein I will ask a question I hardly ever get a response to. When discussing the costs or savings when I mention buying locally and saving the shipping and Hazmat fees on these purchases I often get the response that, 'well then you have to take into account your time spent and the fuel costs to go to these local stores." That is when I always respond then what do you do when that trip is included into a trip that involves already going somewhere else and that this stop just happens to be on the way. In many cases these trips include stops at 3 or more other places.
