I have a Remington Sporter Barrel (.22-250) and the original Stock (Monte Carlo stock with black end cap, white spacing, checkered front and comb..) Circa 1978.. Both are in excellent condition, with about 300 rounds through the barrel. What is a fair price to ask for the combo?? Thanks..

If I had it right now...I'd give you $300 for it...if it is in the condition you describe.

If I were you...I'd keep it, Remington don't make them like that anymore.

Blue book value is probably around $250 - $300. (Just a guess)

Never thought about it like that (They don't make 'em like that anymore).. I took the action and had a local smith take a Shilen heavy varmint barrel and a Remington 700 BDL stock (Made to hold Varmint HB'S) .. And he turned them into the Rifle that I never got around to buying in 1978...( With a 4x 20 Leupold of the same year)...

the barrel is probably worth $30-50, the stock $50-65, and the bottom metal $25-40.

if you want to sell the stock w/ no bottom metal, i am in need of a rem 700 short action stock w/ no bottom metal and would be willing to discuss it.

I didn't realize that it did not have an action...sorry.

That reduces the price considerably...I value the older Remingtons a little higher than some people...I'd still say what you have is worth $175 or so...
