"Fashionable" carry: pics?

BY the way, "older guys" are in their 60's and 70's. 30-40 are still just young whipper snappers.

Thank you sir!... I'll be 31 in Jan-07...

I have just attained my WA CPL, so I'm looking into these threads on CCW "threads"... :neener:

I'm a carpenter pants/polo shirt guy... looking for some good recommendations.

:)

I'm 27, on the weekends I usually wear a button down shirt untucked with jeans or slacks. In that case I go with crossdraw IWB.

Other than that, for suits or whatever, I just carry in a smartcarry and then any clothing options are pretty much workable.

Tactical Ninja --

Come back to us when you are in your 30's or 40's and give us your definition of "old guys"...bet it changes. :D

Nope - it's still gonna be you guys :D (parents' generation)

My aim wasn't to offend anyone, so I certainly hope no one has taken offense to being called an "old guy". It's not about age, it's about the differing dress styles of our generations. Most of the CCW pictures I've seen here and elsewhere are of "older" guys carrying around their style - heavier coats, flannel and so on. Today's young guys (with the exception of the gangsta style) are much less prone to using heavy cover garments. It's more of a sleek, well-fitted look, and I can't recall, before this thread, ever seeing examples of someone CCWing with this style of dress. It helps. :)

I'm 24 and usually wear polo shirts and jeans. My polo shirts aren't super oversized, but I can conceal a full size 1911 with my shirt untucked. I actually prefer jeans to cargo pants since I feel jeans hold the IWB holster to my body better.

When its cold outside I wear a fleece sweater or lightweight polo jacket.

I can't pull off the Hawaiian shirt or flannel. Sorry. :D

Ok, I just took a few pics. Don't mind the quality or location, I was trying to get to the mirror in my wife's closet while not tripping over the strategically placed shoes, heels, etc...

This is my normal attire day to day...I will dress down to cargo shorts and a t shirt or somewhere in between or dress it up with slacks and a jacket or an all out suit if need be.

I am 30 and usually dress in a wide range of styles from "skater/snowboarder punk" through "outdoorsey hippie type" to "metro".

When I am wearing cargo shorts (usually from AE) with deep pockets, I usually carry using a cheap Uncle Mikes Pocket Holster containing one of the following:

NAA Mini Revolver in .22 Mag
S&W Model 60 in .38 Special
Makarov in 9x18 mak
Springfield 3" Micro Compact GI in .45 ACP

I use a blue bandana folded over the top of the holster to block the guns view from prying eyes.

When wearing tight low rise jeans, I carry the NAA in a front pocket using the Uncle Mikes Holster with out the bandana. I am looking at a Kel-Tec P32 or P3AT to fill this purpose with a bigger caliber.

In Colorado, our CCW permit law is very accomidating, and very few places are legally off-limits (schools, secured gov't buildings, controlled access federal property). Unless they are running full metal detection stations with contolled access, private property owners have little abiltity to restrict your CCW, regardless of posted signs. If your weapon is discovered, they MUST first ask you to leave the premisis. If you remain on the property after this request, ONLY THEN have you comitted a criminal violation (tresspassing). This is similar to going barefoot at McDonalds or wearing a vulgar t-shirt in a fancy restaurant. I frequently attend rock concerts in Denver, and some of the venues are not in the best parts of town (Colfax, Broadway, etc.). I order to get through the half-hearted "pat downs" at the door, I carry my NAA in a homemade "crotch holster". There is NO WAY that security types are going to "pat" that area. I usually don't have any concerns about the crowd inside the concert venue, its the several block walk back to my car at 12:30 am that gives me the willies.

During cool temerperatures, I usually carry one of the above metioned guns in an Uncle Mikes Belt Holster under my Quicksilver or Volcom sweatshirt.

I spent too much time in the Army to wear "tactical" clothing, so no BDU pants or other "tacticool" clothing for me.

I'm a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy, so with a loose t-shirt I can hide my Beretta 96 Centurion in an IWB holster pretty easily. It does print a bit if I bend over, but not to the point where it screams GUN!! I'm lucky I'm fairly skinny and broad-shouldered. With a leather jacket, it's pretty much invisible on my hip. I've also found dark colored shirts help conceal better.

Carry a Glock 26 in a Mitch Rosen "Workman" IWB holster on a matching Mitch Rosen belt. Can tuck in a shirt over the holster if need be, with just a little leather strap & snap around the belt; being matching, it blends (and having a snap, easily removed). Usually wear a square-cut shirt intended for not-tucked-in wear which covers all nicely. Brands worn are typically Banana Republic, Gap, or Geffory Bean - certainly not "tacticool". For T-shirts, I tuck it in over the holster (what the Workman design excels at) and then blouse it out for the not-tucked look, covering the belt & holster attachment point completely. Have had knowing & annoying friends try to find the gun, even patting me down, but couldn't.

I'm 23... no fanny packs in my wardrobe so does that make me fashionable? :D Most of the time when I carry it's jeans with an OWB holster I made. I carry an Arcus so sometimes if I'm just wearing a t-shirt the beaver tail and/or hammer will print a litte but no one has ever noticed. Sometimes I'll throw an untucked and unbottoned shirt on over it and I'm good to go. If it's hot and I'm just rockin the shorts and t-shirt I'll go with the IWB but it's not all that comfortable for long periods of time, even with a good belt.
