What's your Fave Sci-Fit Movie/Game Guns?

or even your fave Sci-fi Movies/Games with Guns?:D

I'm still deciding my faves, so I'll post my list later :)

I loved the plasma rifle in D00M and D00M ][. And of course, the BFG-9000.

The most creative gun in all of film SF goes, in my opinion, to a piece that was the center of attention in one episode of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", final season.

It was a rifle, an actual "bang" gun just as we thing of such things, except that somebody had stuck a teleporter device on the end of the barrel, and a sighting system that could see through walls.

So you'd aim "through" walls using a "depth control" in addition to regular aiming, and since the sight "knew" how "deep" you were looking, it would send that info to the teleporter at the moment of firing. The bullet would then go "through" as many walls as needed, or even *people*, without doing any damage until it got to the target...and without losing energy on the way.

Ohhhhhh ya.

Game/Movie guns

For the games, my favorite guns were a set of neutron cannans and mass drivers loaded onto on the hot fighters in the original Wing Commander game. Chase down those flea bitten Kilrathi, neutron cannons to take down the sheilds, then throw in the mass drivers to destroy the enemy fighters.

Movie guns, Hmmmm its a toss up 'tween the Mini-gun that the Terminator (Ahnald) weilded in T2, and the rigs that Lopez and her RPA used in Aliens.

Aliens Pulse Rifle is pretty cool.

You can't leave out the ZF-1 from Fifth Element.

- Supressed Armor Piercing, "following-shot" guided projectiles
- Flame thrower
- Poison dart launcher (explosive)
- Rocket launcher
- Freeze cannon
- Net launcher
- Self destruct

"The ZF-1! It's light, handles adjustable for easy carrying. Good for both righties and lefties. Breaks down into four parts, undetectable by x-ray. Ideal for quick, discreet interventions. A word on firepower. Titanium recharger. 3,000 round clip with bursts of 3 to 300. With a replay button, another Zorg invention, its even easier. One shot ... and replay sends every following shot to the same location. And to finish the job, all Zorg oldies but goldies. Rocket launcher. Arrow launcher with explosive poisonous gas heads. Our famous net launcher. The always efficient flame thrower. My favorite. And for the grand finale, the all new ice cube system."

There is no more ultimate movie gun.

Okay, here's mine...

On a site I visit occasionally, there's a racing game where you can fit all sorts of equipment on your cars. There's a weapon named "Diatomic Laser" you can put on there. It shoots these really fun orange laser bolts that make the targeted car fly into the air and do several flips.

Favorite sci-fi movie is "Stargate SG-1." Great plot, has a bunch of explorers transporting through the "Stargate" to different worlds. Of course, their guns are wimpy little 9mm P-90s. Bah.

The alien races in Stargate have some sweet weapons too. This race called the "Ga'ould" have staffs that shoot a gigantic blast of energy. Very fun.

Stargate SG-1 is the TV show (a very good one). The movie was just "Stargate."

And it's Goa'ould. =) I think the Zatnikitels (Zats) are a more creative weapon than the staffs. One shot stuns, a second shot kills, and a third shot vaporizes the body.

My vote for coolest Sci-Fi gun easily goes to the M41-A Pulse Rifle from Aliens. Sound effects and all, just too badass....

standard issue rifle from XCOM: UFO Defense

20 round magazines
Single or 3-Round burst
fires a 6.7mm Armor-Piercing projectile (as in the actual bore diameter of 6.5mm Grendel or Swedish)
Looks like a cross between a SIG-551 and M-41A Pulse Rifle

So good all the way back in 7th grade it convinced me of the superiority of a battle rifle firing a powerful flat shooting long range cartridge still controllable under rapid burst fire. I never upgrade from them, i just capture enemy heavy plasma rifles in the 60-watt range.

oh yeah, Deckard's Pistol (snub-nose pistol gripped steyr bolt action rifle) is also incredibly cool. It was also featured in Fallout 2 as the .223 Rem Pistol.
