My Grand Dad bought this 1879 vintageTrapdoor rifle from Bannermans for $7.50 when he moved to Wyoming to homestead before the turn of the last century. He never saw any Indians, so he never fired it.
It languished in the saddle room in the barn for 47 years.
I found it when my Dad and I were snooping around in the abandoned buildings after my Grandparents moved to town.
That was 70 years ago. My Dad said I was too young to have a gun like that, and he put it in the back of a closet, where it remained for another 20 years.
When my folks retired and moved to town, I quit the WHP and returned to the ranch, I found it. It was in terrible shape. I obtained an unfired barrel and got a stock from
Rhinehart-Fajen and resurrected it.
I have taken Elk, Mule Deer, Antelope and numerous varmints.
Yeah, It's my favorite.
Muzzle Loaders?
Exact reproduction of the Medina Hawken.
