Accuracy, reliability, sizing, how it handles etc... All things considered, what is consistantly your favorite out of the box production bolt rifle?

The open sighted British 303 that my Dad left me after he died in 1994. Not an expensive gun but my Dad loved it and he was a heck of a sportsman and hunter.

In other words the 303 for sentimental reasons......

Where's the fill in the blank?

Well of the four I've only ever shot a Win Model 70. I love mine though and it had brought down some deer.

First post in the new house! Feels like home all ready...just need some old beer cans in the corner....O.K....there we go.

Gotta go with the 700. My first and second bolt actions...out of the two I own.

    Regards,
    S.

I said Rem 700, because you did not have Barrett M95 in 50BMG. :D

REM 700 ADL. No bells or whistles. Just elegant and accurate!
    Works for me.

    Goldarnit!

I didn't see a box for the 98 Mauser. When are these younguns gonna learn where the origin of their favorite Remchester/Ravages came from?

    ;)

    Yep, Mauser
    In all its forms.

Got a $40 Turk that will clover leaf with iron sites at 100 yards (Course, I also have one that shoots 12" groups at 100yds...), Also M39 finns can shoot very nice as well. My first bolt was a Rem 700 in .270 and it was a great shooter right out of the box. So if I have to stick with the poll options, it would have to be that one

Kind of limited in my choices. None of the rifles listed are bad but when it came to spending my money I bought a Steyr Scout.
