1. S&W
2. Ruger
3. Colt
Yes I have or had at least two of all of these, from.22lr-.44mag.Also had two tauras, but I had nothing but trouble with both, they both had to go back to them for repair on my dime(lot more than a dime:fire:)

I'm gonna go with Taurus since nobody else will. I would hate for Taurus to feel like the fat kid getting picked last for the basketball team in p.e. But honestly my Taurus model 66 is currently my only wheel gun and it was bought brand new for $366. The fit and finish are pretty dang good, it's been 100 percent reliable and is as accurate as one could ask for. I know they are not the favorite for the purists but its been nothing but good for me.

I belong to the Colt cult. Mind you its the low class one. I haven't been disciplined enough to save for a Python or SAA:(.

Much as others have mentioned, I seem to like older 60s, 70s and 80s S&Ws for DA, and Rugers from roughly 53 to 2011 for SA. :)

Old school S&W
Current Ruger

I really don't like the looks of the current S&Ws.
And that IL thing just turns me off.
But there's nothing like the classic beauty lines of the old school S&Ws.

I don't think the current double action Rugers are much to look at, but they're built like tanks that'll stand the test of time.

I've owned a few of those Ruger tanks -- two GP-100s, one SP-101, and one Police Service Six. Those extremely durable revolvers really do not shoot nearly as well as Smith & Wesson revolvers in my hands, so I'll go with S&W.

I have Colts and Rugers, but S&W is my favorite. They just feel right. It's totally subjective.

Pre lock (preferably P&R) S&W for their fit, finish, feel, accuracy. Shooter grade revolvers are quite a bit less $$$ than new.

Second is Dan Wesson. I only own one, a 4" 15-2 of '72 vintage but I really REALLY like that revolver! The blueing on it is drop dead pretty, trigger is awesome and it's a tack driver. IMO the older DW are a super bang for the buck.
