What is your favorite revolver caliber. For whatever reason.
Mine is the .357 Mag. It is very versatile and the bullet selection for reloading is unsurpassed. Good caliber for toting in the woods or tucking IWB while in town.

got to agree, i like the 357 mag. good for snubbies up to small whitetail.

im sure there will be a lot of big-bore folks here though ;)

but hell...i think my next will be a 44 mag.

BTW, theres gonna be a lotta folks upset cause you missed the auto calibers :) (10mm, 45 ACP, 9mm etc...course maybe they shouldnt be revolver calibers anyhow  )

Ummm...let me see...I think...
Can I get back to you on this?

I can make my 45 colt purt near as mellow as your 38's and can sure crank it up a whole lot more.:neener:

The obvious answer, as most have perceived, is the .357 Magnum, used often with its understudy ammo, the .38 Special.

The .44 and .45 guns have their points, but they're too bulky for much carry, as is their ponderous ammo. Great in certain circumstances, but not outstanding all-round.

The 9mmP is probably my choice in auto calibers, likely in the CZ-75. But the .357 is best, really

Well, I voted .44 Mag, but I really wanted the Special caliber. To me, with decent loads, the Special is THE load. Things the .357 is too small for, the hot special will handle readily.

I really think instead of creating the .41 Magnum, Jordan and Keith should have been working on one of the major loaders to get a decent .44 Special load. With the loads we have today from Proload, Corbon, and some of the others, Skeeter's old favorite comes into it's own.

I voted for the 45 colt,it's the one i'am having the most fun with right now.I also reload the 38spl,357mag and 45acp.

I'm very fond of a medium framed 357mag with a 4" barrel. Small enough to carry concealed when necessary, but enough power, with the right loads, to take on anything I would shoot with a handgun in the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic. With light 38special loads (my fav being 2.5gr of Bullseye under a 158gr bullet of just about any kind), it's great for plinking tin cans all day long.

I know you can do similar things with larger calibers, but the guns are too big IMO for general carrying.

I went through a period where I wanted to replace my GP100 with a 44mag or 45Colt. I just knew I needed a larger bullet to repel hottentots or grizzled bears. :what: I'm glad I made it through that unscathed. I finally realized the 357 would do anything I needed to do with a handgun and was quite packable at the same time.

...MY favorite revolver chambering??? That's easy--.357 Magnum--just like my "handle"!!! I choose .357 Mag because of it's versatility, it's stopping power--WAY more than adequate for anything/anyone I'm likely to need to shoot--and it's controllability/shootability in any SANE-sized revolver....FWIW....mikey357

A foregone conclusion methinks ... yep, .357 mag. Gotta be.

I love my .44 for sure but .. it is a big gun, not inherently totable ..... and so, unwieldy. For specific occasions .. hunting etc it is great.

The .357 tho is such a good compromize between compactness and power .... tho I would have to say that factory .357 rounds suck!! I load my own with a 158 cast gas check SWC in front of 14 grns Vit N110 .. not a max load but well hot. That is a good round and unless the gun's tube is too short (not a fan of hot 357's outa 2 1/2 tube!) .. then it is a fine round.:)
