I'm kind of partial to elk, the wife and myself but I'm open to other wild caught/killed/harvested game. Oyster and lobster come to mind as being pretty tasty.
I've eaten worms(grubs) and grasshoppers but turned down lizard at the advice of our Hmong scouts, back when I was a kid.
Tried some Brazilian Rio Negro tree sap that gave me the squirts for about 6 weeks that I don't wish to try again, but I don't really consider that "game".
YMMV,
Enjoy,

Doug

As far as North America (my only experience) goes, elk is by far my favorite. A buddy of mine got one last year and he took the backstrap, sliced it into 1.5" medallions, wrapped them with a piece of bacon, put a tooth pick through it and through it on the top shelf of the grill for a short time. That has to have been the best piece of meat I have ever eaten. Even steaks without the bacon rival beef in my opinion. Now I'm hungry!

Normally we get pheasant, the occasional deer and a lot of squirrels, tried some possum not too long ago. Wasn't actually that bad. Don't remember exactly how but was cooked with sweet potatoes. Also had some pheasant that was cut into little pieces, wrapped in bacon with half a grape and put a toothpick in it. Really good too.

Speed goat (antelope) is my fav and the wife agrees. Elk 2nd followed by moose, buffalo, then deer. While I really like venison, I've had some pretty "gamey" tasting mule deer...

Elk and squirrel are probably my favorite. Don't know, our little coues whitetail deer is very good too. Weirdest? Bobcat and coyote have to be the weirdest I've tried. Coyote meat is garbage. Bobcat is good.

Elk tenderloin is outstanding.

Haggis is good.

1 Gator- bout any way you can cook it.
2 Venison and elk are good too
3 Snake- Deep fried
4 sushi and sashimi- mmmmmm

Weirdest? oh god help me I am so glad my wife doesn't get on here to tell anyone.

But that said, dog is good grilled slow with a good teriyaki marinade...

You name it I may have ingested it at some point. Sad but true I guess.

Best game meat - Axis Deer

Weirdest - If it walks, runs, slithers, digs a hole or swims, I have probably eaten it. Probably the best off the beaten path meat I have had is Sandhill Crane, also know as the Ribeye of the Sky. Good stuff.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

Oh close call, I love deer and black tip shark the best, though if you get a redfish in the 20-26" range they are awful sweet and tender when blackend. Wild hog can be fantactic IF you prep it right.

Faves have to be pronghorn and oryx. Wierdest was mountain lion followed by american alligator, didn't know it was lion till later, was tasty though.

Favorite fish: Crappie

Favorite bird: Ruffed grouse

Favorite big game: Bison

Weirdest: Human
