You kidding right? Mosins are $80 to $100 here at Big 5 all day. I picked up a M44 for $100 with all the fixins just in November.

I couldn't make it up, I've called these guys out on it a couple of times(I've been dealing with the mgr at this pawn shop for several years at different shops) and I quote "I don't make the prices here and the owner doesn't know S*** and won't listen".

So I'll continue to deal with senor Carlos and laugh at the overpriced junk they have and continue buying the steals they put on the shelf(Springfield M6 Scout for 149 anybody)

If the owner would let Carlos make the prices on the guns, he'd make a heckuva lot more money, but he's the owner, and he's not the most intelligent person I've ever met. Heck, he probably wouldn't make the top 1,000.

JZ06, out of curiousity, what is the difference between a Glock 19C and a regular Glock 19?

I thought Glock's "C" guns were the compensated barrel models.

Well, I only bought two guns in 2008: Saiga 7.62x39 and Les Baer Custom Carry. I was pretty upset that I had to pay $330 for the Saiga when six months prior I could have gotten it for $280 :(. But since the Obama craze started, I've seen them sell like hotcakes for $600!! :what: So now I'm pleased as punch with the price I got. And of course, the gun works great :).

But really, as happy as I am with the Saiga, my favorite purchase is the Les Baer. I decided on it back in 2006 and sold my NRM Colt. So for the last two years, I was without a .45 auto . Well, I fixed that last month, as I finally saved enough pennies to bring the little puppy home. :D Had high hopes and it is turning out to be everything I wanted.

I've only bought three if I remember correctly.

In July it was a Mosin
Again in July a Remington XR-100
And finally in December a Beretta Cheetah.

It's basically a toss up between the Cheetah and XR.

In an eventful year, Remington Model 1903A3, Tokarev SVT-40, and 1988 Tantal memories stand out.

Bolt-action rifles are so much easier to clean! Instead of having to fieldstrip the entire piece, all I have to do is remove an '03A3's bolt and run patches through the barrel from the breech.

favorite purchase: Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail .45 ACP
i'd been wanting that one for a long time. thanks to the election, my wife caved and approved the funds.

new year resolution: stock up on ammo at every possible opportunity. 'nuff said...
