I have a pair of Ruger .357s (GP100 4" and a Blackhawk convertible) that I shot a good bit until I got my Ruger Bisley .45 Colt. With cowboy loads, it's a total pop-gun and a real tack driver.
I enjoy shooting both my M&P and SR9. The M&P has a better trigger and shoots tighter groups though the SR9 points more naturally and is plenty adequate in the accuracy department.
My 1911 is, well, a 1911. Points naturally, quite accurate and puts big holes in things.
I have a pair of Kahrs, CW9 and P45, that are meant for carry but get shot relatively often because they are carry guns. Both are small, but neither is unpleasant. Both are also plenty accurate.
Overall though, hard to go wrong with a Ruger .22 pistol. Mine is a 22/45 MkIII with a heavy barrel. I've ran a lot of ammo through it. Unfortunately it doesn't particularly like the bulk ammo. Stuff that runs reliably is comparatively expensive. I deal with the stoppages just to increase cheap trigger time.
