What is your favorite hunting rifle (out of the ones listed)?

I have made this poll to see which guns people like best in case I have to refer a friend or neighbor to either another hunting rifle or their first hunting rifle.

Mohawk 600 in 5.56 its my dog killer
I HAD A DREAM! BUT TEXAS LONG HORNS WRECKED IT AGAIN!

Weatherby or Howa? Certainly the Weatherby Vanguard is made by Howa, but no way you can group the Mark V into that category.

There is also a big difference between what I really wish I had and the favorite of what I do have.

My favorite of what I do have, is a Remington700 BDL. What I wish I had...well I am not sure this site has enough bandwidth for that list...

My favorite is the one I have in my hand at the time. Since I hunt many different species and sizes I have many different "species" and sizes of firearms.

I bet Coal Dragger's is a Black powder ??????????

No not black powder, I don't even own a black powder firearm.

If you're thinking my screen name has anything to do with black powder it does not. My screen name has to do with my current profession, since I make a living dragging coal around. About 14-17,000 net tons of the stuff at a time, divided into 120 to 135 connected containers. I also drag some freight around, but where I work mostly coal.

I preferred the first high powered rifle I ever bought, a weather proof Mossberg ATR 100 in .270 but since its not on the list I have to go with the Ruger.

My T3 was not on the list:(, so I voted for my second fav the Savage 110. Once I get my FN model 70 I might have to change that vote though :) I have really liked a couple remmie 700s that I really liked, but they have been so up and down over the years, Tikkas and Savages have never let me down.

Wouldn't it depend on what we are hunting?

What are we hunting btw?

Southern Whitetails?
NE/Midwest Whitetails?
Blacktails?
Pronghorns?
Elk?
Griz?
Moose?
Black Bear?
Cougar?
Hogs/Pigs?
Yotes?
Prairie Dogs?
Prison Escapees?

Only bolt action I own is a CZ 527M carbine in 7.62x39mm, great little handy rifle suitable for medium game, I would assume, and is quite accurate. Other than that, I guess my vz-58 could be used, if I could find 5 round mags for it.

Out of the ones listed? R700

My favorite? Thompson Center Encore chambered in .270 as I hunt mostly deer and I only need one shot :D

I've been lost for hours in the Swamp in SC carrying a heavy Browning Shotgun and I had a Browning 30-06, because of weight I always enjoyed hunting with my SKS with a folding stock. It is very accurate and just a fun gun to shoot. After that I put slings on all my Guns, including Shotguns. It's hard to wade in water holding a Gun in your hands, it's better on a sling.

I went with the Remington 700, because that is what I use now.

However, I like guns, so I'd like to try a hunt with everything you have listed. It would be good times.
