I ordered a Ruger MKIII 22/45 with a threaded barrel last week, should be here any day now. As you know the threaded barrel variety of 22/45's come in either fixed sight or picatinny rail variations, of which I got the one with the sights. After ordering a LCI plug, mag disconnect replacement bushing and a volq extractor, I got to thinking that I should look into changing the sights, at least the rear, right away as well.

Now, I own a MKII Target that my father gave to me and I gotta say those sights never really agreed with my poor eyesight, so I'm thinking maybe something in the line of a fiber optic front or even something like the Williams sights.

I dunno, just want to hear from those who know what the preferred sights are for these pistols.

I recently put a tacsol green fiber front and v-notch rear on my ruger. I like the setup, but the fiber on the tacsol is very small and not very bright. I haven't seen how I shoot with it yet, but that's some food for thought.

I put the adjustable Williams Firesights on my MKII about a year ago and the only problem I see is me not doing it WAY sooner.

I really like the Williams, seem to hear nothing but good things about them.

Hmm, never thought about a V notch rear, that might be my way to go as well?

Put a rail and a holo on my MarkIII threaded and I've pretty much decided I'm going to take it off and go back to the iron sights...just makes more sense on the suppressed pistol.
