S&W Model 19-4 w/ 2.5". My favorite. Took me many years to get one of these. They've gotten very hard to find.

My one and only. A S&W Model 49 I bought new 30 some'odd years ago. I went looking for a Chief's Special, and no one had any. But a shop in Yucca Valley California has this lil' fella, and I thought it was just so ugly it was cute.

We've traveled far and grown old together.

I call her Libby,,,

I call her Libby,,,

When I first bought her,,,
She looked rode hard and put up wet.

3" S&W Model 36,,,
I can actually hit something with it.

I also have a standard 1 7/8" Model 36,,,
I've practiced enough with it that I do alright at 7 yards.

But with Libby's longer barrel (sight radius),,,
I can keep them all in an 8" paper plate at 25 yards.

I don't currently own any revolvers with barrel less than 4" and find myself preferring a 5.5" to 6.5" barrel these days, but I once owned a 3" Ruger Speed Six (former USPS issue) that had been slicked up by Mag-Na-Port that was a dream to carry and shoot. The only reason I got rid of it was that I developed a dislike for porting.

I carry an M66 almost every day, either a 2.5" or a 3".

Heavy, bulky, recoil and muzzle blast is brutal, and they're not easy to CC. But I'm far more accurate with those snubs, and I adapted to the comfort thing, or the lack of, a long time ago.

These two KLCRs. I use them for CC and open carry hiking up here in MT. I carry an 870 and one Ruger when hiking behind my house. These revolvers are so easy to carry and forget about. I use a CrossBreed SnapSlide OWB holster on an ARES GEAR belt for carrying perfection. I also use a Cozy Partner Renegade ankle holster when I want/need to carry both. They're not the best looking revolvers but I'll take function over form any day. I also have two SP101s and an SRH Alaskan in. 454 Casull but the KLCRs get all the use.

A KLCR w/ CT grip is my ideal carry gun, and the one I carry far more than all others. Maybe not pretty like some others in this thread, it has it's own deadly beauty.

Since I posted the pic in post #122, I have added a Rossi 462, a 6 shot, small frame 357, in high polish stainless. Its amazing how nice the new Rossi revolvers are for the price. This one was under $300 new, and shoots like a dream

ApacheCoTodd -- that Smith of yours has been in a fight. It was not uncommon to use a snubbie like a club or set of brass knucks, and the bent trigger guard is a give-away that this gun has been so used.

I think I've posted this one before
Not fancy, but a good shooter

Don't know what it is about the Pre 1960s Detective Spl front sight that is so cool, but oooh-ee! I love that thumbnail profile so much more than the later ramped front sight... not necessarily a "grail gun" for me, but it comes close :D

All these great photos and mentions of FBI style model 19s has me rethinking my collecting priorities :)

My S&W 642 ... and wuddja believe its the same size as my G30 SF??? My oh my oh my. Hmmm 5 rounds of 38 Special vs 10 of 45 ACP? Believe it or not, I think the 642 is the all time perfection of the "pocket pistol" concept.

But my all time, all around, all purpose, favorite DA snub is my 629 Trail Boss. After a lot of years now and the Good Lord only knows how many expeditions, it's still my #1 packin' iron in the bush.

My all time favorite Single Action "snubby" is my 3" Uberti made Cimarron Thunderer Colt 45

Doesnt look the same size to me. Thats the beauty of a revolver for CC. It doesnt have that huge knob sticking up at the back. You know, that big chunk that sticks out under your shirt, or from your armpit... It may have the same measurements, but its certainly NOT the same size.

Pard,

I was indeed hoping for some kind of reply but the truth is I really wasn't trying to rile anyone up. You're mighty right that any Glock ever made is uglier than a bucket of rusty lizards.

My wheel guns do indeed have adventures they would share if only they could.

Thanks for your reply :)
