I'm no expert on shotguns (by a long shot), but doesn't it kind of depend on what the intended use is? I mean, what is the perfect home defense gun may not be the best rabbit/quail/goose/deer/whatever gun, right? But a gun that borders on useless for home defense may be perfect for Canadian Geese, and vice versa, wouldn't it? If you're looking for home defense, I would think a pump or semi-auto would be best, but a single shot or double barrel may be just what the doctor ordered for putting some rabbit or squirrel on the table....
