I've got a 4" GP-100 and a 2" SP-101.
The GP is better. With the lightest of the Wolff mainsprings installed, it's got a trigger that is better than my 25 year-old S&W model 10. It's easily the most comfortable, versatile, and accurate handgun I own.
The SP is the best there is if you're enamored with .357s in a small gun. Since I shoot mostly .38s, I'd rather have a backup J-frame, or one of those Taurus 7-round models for belt carry.
My SP is a finicky gun. .357s are not practical with anything but the best grips, and all +P ammo shoots terribly low. It's a backup for my 642, should it ever need to go to the shop. bit it's not a source of pleasure at the range like the GP-100 is.
