I mentioned this new model of the venerable H&R Handi-Rifle in a another thread, but I haven't ever actually seen or handled one. Does anyone have any first-hand reports to share after handling, and preferably shooting, this new stock and forend combination?
This setup is being offered from the factory on these models: 22" (243 Win., 308 Win, 45-70 Gov't.) 24" (Heavy Varmint, 204 Ruger, 223 Remington, 22-250 Remington) 26" (25-06 Remington). They are also offering the stock and forend to retrofit older rifles. The forend appears to be same one with molded-in checkering that they have been offering on their pistol cartridge rifle/rifled slug shotgun combos for a while.
This new stock is quite different from the pistol-grip Survivor stock (made by Choate) that they have offered for some time. There is much more drop at the shoulder, more cheek support and also a longer reach to the trigger.
Any reports?
Cheers,
Matthew
