A few years back i bought an FEG Hi Power (Browning clone, it uses all Browning parts) 9mm. Since i was raised on 1911's and S&W wheelguns, it just felt natural in my hand. It was one of my favorite guns. A couple years ago i let a buddy talk me out of it. He had a Mustang convertible i wanted...he wanted my Hi Power...a handfull of cash and the Hi Power later i drove away with the Mustang. It was one of those guns that i really shouldn't have let him talk me out of.

Well he decided to do a little safe cleaning...and he knew how bad i wanted the Hi Power back...and he only put about 50 rounds through it...and he offered it back to me at a great price...i'm picking it up tomorrow.

I think i'll do a little work on it. Maybe get rid of the mag disconnecter, do a trigger job, add adjustable sights and some type of front sight insert. This time it won't get away.

Now if i can just talk him out of the Star Firestar 9mm....

congrats on getting it back, i just picked one of these up on trade about two weeks ago too. i love it. i had been shooting a .45 gi springfield and i was all over the place on the target (and off the target). I think i just have really weak wrists or something. i have been laughed at many times for saying this but i just couldn't keep that gun from throwing me around. so i shot that 9mm the other day and i am a different shooter. on target, and i can control it. so from one clone lover to another good luck.

I love to shoot mine, and am glad to have it. Actually feels a little nicer to shoot than my FM M95 HP (Argentine) both are great firearms though.
Maybe when I grow up I can have a real BHP :D After all more is better right?
Congrat's on getting yours back.

After you remove the mag disconnector spring you won't need much more work on the trigger. A huge improvement. Light and crisp.

Mine seemed to have a weak recoil spring, it would fail to feed when shooting in dusty environment. So I replaced it with a Wolff one. No problems since then.

That got me to doubting the other springs, so I ended up replacing all of the springs: mags, extractor, main/hammer. For a $225 pistol it is pretty decent.

I bought mine after a shooting recommended it. He shot 1911s competitively and said the FEG had also held up for him after thousands of rounds.
