Brian....my wife knows a few single ladies.......

very nice purchase. has character (like my colt 1903--look at all that history it wears) & and the serial # alone justifies the purchase. enjoy

That's a great buy - I have to admit I'm jealous. The scratches = character and a Commander = cool.

Have fun with it!

Take care,
DFW1911

Maybe try some Flitz on it to polish out some of those scratches; they don't look like they're that deep. Enjoy that Combat Commander.

Thanks for all the comments... and if anyone is wondering those sights are wilsons... not sure what model, never seen anything like em...my favorite part, the trigger is about 3 1/2 pounds and snaps like a glass rod... got to love it

Flitz will not remove any bluing, and is non-abrasive so it's not going to scratch or mar the blued finish either. It's actual product description is that it's a metal polish and fiberglass cleaner with corrosion protection. I've used it on blued guns and on plated guns as well. It works great at getting rid of dirt, oil, grime, powder residue, etc. from the surface itself. Then just lightly buff it with a clean cotton cloth rag, and it will shine the bluing right up.

That is a real classic! I would rather have a scratched up Colt Combat Commander that many other models in new shiny condition. You can refinish the Colt someday, and you will always have a first class platform to start with.

Take care of it, enjoy shooting it lots, and someday treat it right with a refinish. I bet Robar could get that looking pretty darn nice.

call me crazy, but i think the scratches on it don't take anything away from the pistol's looks. nice pistol you got there brian.

Almost like having a new car. After you put a scratch or two on it you quit worrying and start enjoying it. So you got one to enjoy, not worry about.
Congratulations, it was a great buy.

I was about to say almost the exact same thing: I like the scratches :p

I don't know if I can take it that far! I don't mind them too much as long as they don't start to corrode but I don't really LIKE scratches... lol

I don't like scratches, I just think in think in this case it makes the gun look....I dunno well loved? It just seems to add to it in this case IMO.
