Just got it back from the gunshop after a few tweeks, I am so excited to shoot this bad boy tomorrow. I have never spent so much money on on a firearm. I actually had to sell a few firearms to fund this project. I really wanted a JAE stock, but that would be another $1000. I have a viper 6-24, illuminated reticule on order. This scope is only temporary.

Springfield M1a loaded, GG&G bipod and mount, Karsten cheek riser, SA synthetic stock, Viper vortex 6-20X50, sadlak scope mount, and nightfrorce rings.

I can not wait until tomorrow to go to the range.

nice looking rifle let us know how she shoots. i also have a ss loaded, only i switched the stock for a walnut one.

Great looking rifle, I really like the rugged look of the stock

I see you currently own a Viper Vortex and have another on the way...how do you like them? I'm looking into their line of scopes as they seem to have a good feature set for the price. Of course it always comes down to quality...what do you think of them? Obviously you think they are worth the money...but can you elaborate any more?

Eh? ...So it is not complete yet.

Looks good though. They are fun. What's she weight in at?

Nice! I would love to get myself an M1A. If I ever find $1500-$2500 on the ground one day I will get one

Why exactly are your switching out the Vortex Viper you have on there already? Is it just for the illuminated reticle? I hear they are fantastic scopes and would like to put a Viper PST on my future target Savage build.

Nice rig.

HAHA, I went the otehr way. What do you think I can get for my stock? I do not want the walnut.

I want the mildot, and the range from 6-24 and also a first focal plane. This is second. So far I like it, I have only looked through the trees on my property, but I can zoom in on a tree about 3/4 mile away, and it is very clear. They are lifetime warrantied, and if you call them, they will talk your ear off for hours on how scopes work, and everything else. Very cool bunch of guys. The warranty is off the charts, you can run it over with your truck, and they will send you a brand new one at no charge. The guys on Snipershide forums can not talk enough about them. Sure it is not S&B or Ziess, but for the price range, you can not do any better.

If you really want to know about them, go to the snipers hide forums and do a search, or call them directly. I was not impressed on the first one I saw at a local dealer, but I found out that the scope had been dropped, I thought it did not look to clear, and after asking a few questions a few weeks later, I found the truth. As soon as I send some rounds down range, I will report back on the rifle and the scope.

BTW, if anyone is interested, I have an extra GI fiberglass M14 stock. The selector slot has been filled and it is currently painted OD. Bipod stud has been added behind the front sling.

That sounds promising; I wasn't aware of their warranty policy. I just might check out that forum that you mentioned for some additional information. I hate to call them simply because they will find nothing but positive things to say...I want more 'real world' experience, hearing both good and bad about them. But thanks for the info and pointer. Looking forward to hearing how she shoots

Actually they will tell you to stay away from their crossfire series. They are not made well, but for $99, what can you expect. They are very honest, if you want to put a mil dot illuminated scope on a 10/22 the crossfire can not be beat, but anything much over that and it will be replaced after a few shots. They will not steer you wrong. That is what I liked about them.

I just bought the Viper 6.5-20 44mm. I've only heard top notch compliments about the scopes. It's on a UPS plane as we speak. I decided to go with the 44mm because I never shoot in adverse light conditions since I don't hunt and it's basically the same glass as the 50mm.

Can't wait to get it and mount on my Rem700.
