I said M&P and Steyr----Put a about 100 rounds through my M&P yesterday---had it a couple months but just got around to shooting it--VERY sweet---slicked up nicely after just a couple magazines--no misfires--no bobbles.

Another big surprise was how accurate my cheapie Sigma is--1st time out for this one too----the heavy trigger was no big deal in actual shooting---this will probably become my carry gun due to: light weight---fairly compact size---accurate--I view the heavy trigger as a safety feature--plus it was cheap and not a big of a loss vs say a Sig 226 should I actually have to use it and the cops take my gun.

Voted XD, cuz I don't own any of the others (but may try a CZ someday). Mine is in .40, but it's accurate and reliable. I carry it in a tac rig. I do have a PT111 for use as a bug; reliable, but I'm no big fan of the trigger travel).

I'd go with the M&P. have owned several glocks and an xd 45 service model and they were all great firearms but the M&P just feels better in my hand than anything else except maybe my kimber. As far as reliability I took 2 training classes yesterday in central TX and saw several xds a few glocks and 1911s and one baby eagle. Out of all these weapons I witnessed a bunch of malfunctions with the xds/glocks and 1911s. Not to say anything bad about these pistols, I'm sure a lot of the malfunctions(FTE/stovepipes/slides locking back w/a round left in the mag etc.) were shooter induced but my M&P 9 functioned flawlessly through about 600 rounds. As a matter of fact I've put over a 1000 rounds through this pistol so far without one problem. It is fairly new but it shoots and feels great. If I were you I'd find a range that rents pistols and try a few out, maybe get some instruction on trigger manipulation, grip and stance and then decide which one or ones feel and shoot well for you. I think any one of those pistols you listed would be fine if your applying the basics. Figure out if you want a pistol for the range, competition, carry, home defense or any combinations thereof and then make your choice.

Take it from me. I have shot and owned everyone of them. The FN will last you longer and can out shoot all of them hands down FN is the better one of your choices. The M&p is a near 2nd.
