Finish Stripper that takes out Stain?

Is there any type of finish stripper that will also take out the stain of the wood? I'm having trouble getting some of the old stain from the hardwood stock on my Savage Mk I. So far all I've found is possibly Klean-Strip Refinisher, however I'm not sure if I'll be able to find it. Anyone know of any other options. Thanks

If you want to spend a little more the Minwax Antique Furniture Refinisher, contains acetone, MEK, Toluene, Methanol and will take the hide off a bull elephant. The good part is that it also contains an oil that keeps all these chemicals from drying out the wood.

If you want to be cheap like me just buy a gallon can of acetone and a good set of rubber gloves.

When you refinish your stock do NOT use an oil base stain as this will seal the surface of the wood. Use a alcohol or water base dye/stain and your oil base finish will soak deeper into the wood.

Below a Enfield stock that was striped with acetone and dyed with an alcohol base stain and mutable coats of raw linseed oil.

I'll be using Birchwood Casey stain, I'm pretty sure it's water based. What's left is blotted areas of stain around the grip and side of the stock that doesn't want to come out. I'll see if I can find that in town. Thanks for the help.

The best way to get stain out of wood is to use one of the bleaching chemicals to remove it.
Note that in some cases, what looks like stain may actually be oil soaked wood.

I tried the Minwax with no success, although it did do a good job of taking off finish from the chair I accidentally spilled it on . Very fast working. I'll try the chlorine, great link, thanks.

Certi-Strip from Brownells, it will take the finish off of a Browning rifle stock!!!

I recently refinished both a Winchester shotgun stock and a set of Colt grips. I used Crown Hand-Strip from Lowes. It took the finish off quickly and easily. I put a little color back on with some Howard's refinisher, which is basically a wiping stain. I topped them off with a couple of coats of Tru Oil.
