Hi
I'm looking for some advice on refinishing a gun stock
The gun will have a teak wood stock and has anŷ one got some advise on working with this wood
I intend to strip it to bare wood and stain with walnut stain then oil finish
But have never worked with this so would like to hear from anyone who has

Many thanks in advance for you help in this matter

I generally use tru-oil rubbed on with my fingers. Let it build up for glossy finishes and buff it with a car buffer and some polish for a gloss finish. However, if you have checkering or want a matte finish that doesn't work very well. http://forums2.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=167190 scroll down to the pictures and read that guy's post. it's short and sweet. And oh my he had 2 gorgeous rifles.

BLO gives a nice oil finish and is much easier to apply. just be sure not to put either on too thick. It's much better to have to apply a 2nd coat than to have drips and runs.
