Hi, all.

Has anyone used Fiocchi 9mm hollow point ammo? The price seems right, but one thing I've noticed about ammo that is less expensive is it tends to have a LOT of muzzle flash. Not a good thing in low light situations.

Kind of like the Magtech SCHP I've used in my CW9. I was looking for a less expensive option for a copper HP. The Magtech functioned just fine, but there was a LOT of muzzle flash.

Any opinions? Thanks.

I have no experience with their 9 M/M ammo but I have shot plenty of the Fiocchi +P 38 special and .357 Magnum ammo and have been very pleased with it. I hope this may be of some help.

Actually, I've noticed that most SD HP ammo from major manufacturers, eg. Federal, CorBon, etc, tends to have minimal muzzle flash. I use Federal's BPLE +P+ load a bit and it also has minimal muzzle flash.

Winchester 147gr Ranger Bonded

Here is a link to SGammo.com. They have cosmetically blemished Winchester Ranger Bonded 147gr 9mm for 22.95 per 50. I have ran 15 or so through my CZ with no issue. They also expanded just fine in water. They are completely operational they just look a little rough.

The Winchester Ranger Bonded are a LE round. They are low flash and consistently perform well.

I would urge you to stay away from the Magtech Gold Guardian. I have never seen them actually work in any test.

The lower priced Fiochi is an older design. The newer Fiochi "extrema" hollow points use Hornady XTP bullets. However they don't always load the round fast enough to get proper expansion and performance. That is what I've seen from researching the rounds on line and limitted shooting experience with the rounds.

I have some Fiocchi 45ACP hollowpoints. I noticed they're loaded with the same bullets I purchased from RMR. I think they're Zero hollowpoints. Just saying.
