Fiocchi ammo.

Fiocchi makes some of the most reasonably priced .38 Super ball out there, and if it weren't for them, there'd be no 7.62 Nagant ammo available at all.

Agree, very good ammo, priced well. I've used from shotshells to handgun ammo.
Also as Tamara mentioned they have unique loadings, like 32 gauge shotshells. ( at least they did a few years ago ).

Fiocchi handgun ammo is sold

at Blythe's in Valparaiso, IN (at least sometime). It's used rather extensively for range ammo. 9mm and 45 acp mostly IIRC. It's a little cheaper than major American stuff so I just kinda thought it was more "price point" than higher quality.

Mebbe if I get ambitious I'll get the chrono out and check against other stuff

I'vve only shot their shotgun shells. Its all thats sold around here, but they sell a LOT of it.

Very high quality brass, which is EXCELLENT for reloading purposes.

Unusual Copper Buildup?

I've used Fiocchi ammo as well; in my experience it was accurate, reliable, and a tad hot.

One odd thing I noticed is that their 9x19mm rounds caused quite a bit of copper buildup in cmy onventionally-rifled barrels. It was much more pronounced than I've seen with Federal, Winchester, Speer, or other commercial ammo,

I didn't observe this with their .40's, but their .40's have a brass-colored jacket and are "Made in Hungary" versus the 9mm's copper-colored jacket and "Made in Italy" tag. (If memory serves.)

As a result, I tend to steer clear of their 9mms, unless I feel like spending more "quality time" with copper solvent and a brush.

Fiocchi...

I just put nine Fiocchi FMJ's in my Jetfire. (I'd tried it before in .25ACP and it seemed hot and heavy.) Plus, I always use it in my P-32. (You know. All that talk regarding "rimlock". Rimlock has never happened with my P-32, but I figured it *might. Murphy's Law and all.
I carry my P-32 a lot more now since I purchased that little Fobus Paddle on the way out of the gun show. For an inexpensive holster, Fobus is great. I'm also becomming quite fond of paddle holsters. ~Wow, I sure changed the topic of THIS thread. Sorry!)

I do think their .32 is hot. KelTec P-32 works better with a heavy recoil spring when shooting it. I have one from Wolff, cost about ten bucks.

I like the 9mm stuff for my Beretta 92. I buy it for about $6 a box and it shoots excellent in the pistol better than anything else I've tried- in fact some other cheap brands shoot downright lousy in my gun.

Fiocchi Vs Magtech

How does Fiocchi .38 Special 158Gr LRN compare to Magtech .38 Special 158Gr LRN in terms of accuracy, reliability and power?

Fiocchi is more expensive than Magtech by about US$2.67/50rd box at the only ammo retailer in town.

Is it worth the extra cost to buy fiocchi?

i guess this is where i tell every one i disagree i bought about a case of it to shoot skeet "bought it at the range" and it was one of the worst ammos i have ever shot it jammed my buddys 870 more than a few the n it did not burn completely through my mossberg i have to say for the price i was very disaponited

Fiocchi seems to be the only bargain ammo that shoots accurately in my beretta 92. I've tried american eagle, UMC, blazer, and Win white box ammo in my 92 and they all shoot like crap. A local gunshop gets several cases of it every year and I stock up when its available IIRC, they charged about $4.99 a box.

Fiocchi .45 auto shoots really nice in my 1911 as well.

My P-32 likes it just fine.

It chrono'd @ 1100 fps.

I don't shoot the P-32 very much, but if I need it for close-up SD, hot is good!

I've used their .455 Eley, 7.62 Nagant and 45 ACP, all with very good results. Their 45ACP is loaded to full 1911 specs, where the Win. white box and UMC are loaded down. In fact, all US commercial .45 and 9mm is downloaded to some degree. IIRC, 9mm NATO is equal to +P by SAAMI specs.

The Fiocchi 230gr 45acp ammo is great stuff. It can usually be had pretty cheaply too.

I've used Fiocchi in my Benelli, both buckshot and slug. the slug works fine, had some trouble with the buckshot. still messing around trying to see if it's my fault or not.

Fiocchi .38 velocity

I note that on their website, fiocchi's .38 Special 158gr LRN is listed as being fired from a barrel longer than 6"s. This seems to create a larger than usual muzzle velocity and muzzle energy. Does anyone have any data how this round performs out of a 4" barrel? Does it match US manfactured +p ammo in "hotness"?
