"Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock bought more than 30 weapons and had more than a dozen stashed in his hotel room as he carried out the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, Fox News learned Monday.

The deadly cache included converted, fully automatic AR-15 style assault rifles with high capacity magazines, according to a law enforcement source. The weaponry suggests Paddock passed numerous FBI background checks..."

I don't mean to be craven, but I do wonder how this will once again drive new efforts at "gun control"?

MarketWatch is reporting gunmaker stocks are already soaring, so Wall Street sure thinks so.....

MarketWatch is reporting gunmaker stocks are already soaring, so it certainly seems Wall Street thinks so....
 
It's notable that they state that the psycho used rifles that had been modified to be fully-automatic. The audio from the videos definitely sounded like a machine gun, but obviously that would mean that he either went through the NFA process to buy a pre-86 one legally (with all the hoops that entails), or illegally modified regular rifles to run as automatics (supposedly not terribly easy on most rifles). I thought I had read that a registered machine gun had never to date been used in a crime. Bizarre and tragic all around...
