What is it with the crazy shootings lately? Is it the "too many rats in the cage" effect, where we all go crazy? Maybe it's the MSM airing incidents that wouldn't have received attention a few years ago.

This one involved a firefighter who apparently disagreed with kids throwing a loud party, with fireworks.

It's a shame to see uniformed persons "lose it", if that's what happened. High stress jobs and all, but still. No justification I can see.

I hope the injured recover. Sad day for gun owners.

I saw "In Session" live courtroom broadcast of the trial. Wife was on the stand and he told her he just "snapped." They were setting off fireworks around 11PM and the suspect and a 24hr shift ahead of him so he neede sleep.

whats so unusual about a government employee snapping? its not like they are immune to emotional and metal health issues any more than any of us are.

I'm from the Cleveland area, this happened the around July 4th last year ('07). As a result, most of the area police departments were on the ball with noise complaints around the 4th... had to call in one myself and had a cruiser down my road within 45 seconds... now that's response time in my book.

I think the SO in my county just didn't care this past 4th.

The fireworks in my neighborhood were better than the village's.

Being a LAC, I did not participate in the festivities. There were some guys down the road that got some real serious rockets. The boom was shaking my house.

At one point I could look in all directions and see fireworks.
