I handled the Mini 40. I reeeely reeely reeely like it. I like the size, the feel and the action. Here's my problem; I own 8 handguns and none of them are low end pieces (except a Taurus 22WMR revolver, which I also like very much). My daily carry is a Glock 30, which I also like, but doesn't feel as good as the Firestorm. Everybody seems to make 1911 clones, Hi-Powers and Taurus even makes Beretta clones. But this Mini doesn't seem to be a clone of anything. I'd buy it in a NY minute for $500 if a more mainstream mfg offered it. Maybe I'll buy it anyway and play with it long enough to see if it would be reliable enough for ccw. I just have a hard time buying a cheap handgun.

I had some problems initially with my Mini 9. It was having literally 10% misfires, something was just wrong with the gun. After having it repaired it has been completely flawless with about 600-700 rounds. Have tried various ammo types with no feeding issues. It is accurate enough for me. I have fairly large hands and this gun fit me better than any of the other smaller 9's I tried. It's not my EDC gun but I have no problem carrying it. Actually it's on my hip at this moment.

Finish is nothing spectacular. Holsters are not easy to come by. Magazines are pricey at $45 (for a $300 gun). From my experience SGS offers very good customer service for what that is worth.

Not saying you should get one, just sharing my experience.

Actually they are stellar little guns. Bersa is a long time gun company. The Thunder was a copy of a Walther s/auto. The mini is a cut down version of that gun. So it is a clone, not a copy and is a solid little platform. Bersa is a nice gun.......the older guns had softer metal from what I have heard..but my dads old Thunder went for years and many thousands of rounds with not a burp. It would still be going strong if he hadnt sold it a couple of years ago.

Ive shot the 9mm and almost got one as a CCW. The only thing I want is a safety that lets me carry Cond 1. But stuff happens.

Shoot well.

Do a search and you'll find my experiences with this gun.

I really, really wanted mine to work, as it's a great design, but have to give it a thumbs-down.

My Mini 9s and 45 have worked fine for me. Some hammer bite but for less than $265 and $325, I can put a bandaid or some tape on the web of my hand to prevent it.

Thanks

Thanks to all for the advice. I went out today and bought an S&W 4040PD scandium 40 cal pistol that really feels good. I still think I'll buy a Firestorm Mini just for fun.
