Greeting all long time lurker first time poster. I have finally given up on finding the AR I want in my price range and have decided to build one. Had my eyes set on an 18 inch 1x8 twist chrome lined 4150 barrel wylde chamber(which apparently doesn't exist ) rifle length gas system, flat top with a free float rail and either a magpul ubr or bushmaster skeleton stock. The rifles intended purpose would be target shooting, coyote/ groundhog hunting and SD/shtf. The purpose of this post was whether m4 feed ramps were necessary on a rifle length gas system( or at all) and opinions on the wylde chamber for a sd firearm and having a 20 inch barrel cut down . I like the idea of the wylde chamber so I don't have to be to picky on training ammo or pass up on good ammo deals. Any opinions or advice for a first time AR owner is welcome thanks.
