It was a cheap little single action .22lr revolver of my father's when I was about 8 i suppose. Might have been junk, but i developed a lifelong love for firearms ever since that first shot.

My first several were various bb/pellet guns, all Daisy brand.

Then I fired a Winchester pump action .22.

Then a Winchester pump action 20 gauge.

First pistol, a Ruger Mark II .22.

buffalo gun

My Dads old buffalo rifle that he had inherited from his Dad. Lever action and to this day i swear those shells were 6 inches long. Lived in Wash State in the mts and at age maybe 8 i had seen an old stump that appeared to me like a monster. Snuck that gun out one day, laid it over the logging truck door, took aim and let it rip! Next thing i recall was parents picking me up, scared to death til they realized i was ok, then for a week i'd say, i ate standing up!!!

My first gun ever fired was a bolt action .22lr in Cub Scout, maybe a marlin heck if I know.

As per handguns

First 3 I fired all on the same day,

-Astra .380acp
-Ruger Service 6 in .357
-Colt Detective Special- .38spl

Probably my dad's Belgian Browning Citori 20 gauge. After that, he bought me a Remington 1100 20 gauge. From there to now seems like an astronomical age.

one of those old semi auto .22 that were slim and you had to load from the butt and shell ejected from bottom of action.

Stevens pump action .22

My older brother got it for his 12th B-Day. I was 10 yrs. old but had a BB gun for many years and already knew gun safety.

Back in the mid 60's we would take that rifle, get on our bikes (or walk) down to the river to shoot at sticks, turtles, snakes.

We could buy boxes of (50 .22 Long Rifle) for .25 cents at the gas station and many grocery stores.

No one looked twice at a couple of kids walking down the road with a .22 (no reason to).

Times are sure different now. :(

Win Model 94 in 30-30, gift from my granddad at 10 years old
it hurt after a few rounds.

A single shot youth model .22 purchase at Monkey Wards for my 7th birthday ,gave it to my son when he was a kid ,he still has it and will pass it on when and if he has kids.

Shot a lot of jackrabbits ,cottontails , squirrels , rats and assorted other things with that little rifle.

Wasn't that the old Ithaca? I forget the model number. I might be wrong on that though.

Or is that the Browning? One or the other I believe.

The first was a Ruger 10/22, shortly after that was a Ruger Mark II Target. He had purchased both upon the news that he was having a boy. Thanks Dad. It's no wonder I'm a Ruger fan today. (Even though I carry a Glock)

My dad's WW2 Walther P38 9mm. I was probably six years old. I remember it was a friggin' HUGE gun at the time. :what: Seems like it's shrunk a bit over the years. ;) Not long ago my dad and I got it out and I posted the serial number over at the P38 forum. Turns out it's an AC41 so it was made at the Walther factory in Germany in 1941.

.22 bolt-action rifles at Scout camp. I shot almost every day. How long ago? JFK was in his first year as President. I now have my own .22 rifle and so does my son.
