First off, they're a private business and they can do what they want to do. Second, you don't see much advertising on Bing anyway... not compared to the others anyway. Let them do what they want. Don't buy their stock.

two faced...

""Weapons, knives, firearms, and ammunition
Advertising is not allowed that promotes firearms or weapons of any kind. "............ " BUT YOU CAN FIND ANY FORM OF PORN YOU MIGHT LIKE....even if you are only 12 yr's old....

To be fair, I don't think they're comparison-shopping THAT, either. And you can still find all the guns and gun stuff you want with a search.

Sam, perhaps, perhaps not. The last two posts on here inspired me to try a few "out there" searches today and there's a surprising amount of comparison shopping available for "adult stuff".

So I guess it's OK for you to search for and comparison shop sex toys and old issues of Playboy magazines, but not a magazine for a Beretta 92.

Funny... many other countries think it is strange that normal (-ish) and generally positive human activities are kept very hush-hush here, or at least out of the public view, but violence is considered accpetable to show in fairly graphic detail.

Seems (though the analogy is imperfect) that our shopping avenues are now trending in the opposite direction!

Sam - I agree, completely.

I was really stunned, for instance, when I started seeing those "Trojan Vibrator" commercials a while back, on TV.

Then I got to thinking, WHY did that shock me? Surprising, how we can hold double standards in our own minds and not even realize it.

Is it annoying that the comparison shopping systems exclude guns and ammo? Yes.

Is it understandable, given the complexity of the laws relating to such items and the GLOBAL nature of the internet? Yes.

I mean we pretty much live in a world where, if you advertise a gun with certain features, you have to specifically say "NOT FOR SALE IN {whatever locale}" for fear of someone in that jurisdiction BIDDING/BUYING it and placing you (in no uncertain terms) on the wrong end of the law, for "agreeing" to sell restricted, prohibited contraband.

I dunno, I'm actually starting to find myself growing less upset about this, than I was originally. My first impression was "you bastards", now I'm pretty much "whatever" about the whole thing.

As far as things to be concerned about on the Internet, and with gun rights in general, there's much bigger fish to fry.
