First Gun Broker auction- Question

And for good reason. What were you planning to do if you had winning bidders on BOTH sites?
Shouldn't be a problem ... I've got 20 of 'em!

And what would be the difference between that and having it also for sale in your shop? It could be sold there the same time a bit was placed on the auction site. I see those types of notices ("subject to prior sale in shop") on auction items all the time.

Selling the same unique item on multiple auction sites? It's called fraud.

If you have multiples then you need to state that in your auction.

I've seen (and reported) sellers who had the same gun (not multiples) listed on both Auction Arms and Gunbroker. In every case the seller was new with no feedback......classic scam.

If you read the auction rules, once a bid is accepted that is a contract to buy. If the item is for sale in a retail store it should be withdrawn once a successful bid has been placed.

ding ding that is why gun dealers shouldn't use auctions for guns Tom. it penalizes you for having foot traffic in your store.

That logic holds true for any form of online selling, since the issue is specific to having two potential avenues for a sale to occur. Any dealer, using any online form of sale tool, should pull the inventory from display once an offer/bid has been made.

But this thread isn't supposed to be about online auction sites vs online ad sites. So let's stop that line of discussion. :)
