Just added a handgun to my slowly growing collection of firearms. Was looking for an inexpensive pistol to take to the range with the guys from work and keep in the house just in case.
The SD9 was on sale for $100 off and couldnt pass it up. Took it to the range the other day and put 250 rounds of mixed ammo through the gun to see how performed. Did not have any issues with cycling, firing, or ejecting every round.
I didnt really see a whole not of negative reviews of this gun, mainly the sigma line. The gun seems to be a good middle ground between the Sigma and the M&P. The trigger is smooth and tight, not too heavy. The rear sights are adjustable, but seemed to be pretty dead on. It fits good in my hands, and also my wife (small hands) is able to grip the gun, release the magazine and unlock the slide with her firing hand.
The only thing I noticed, but probably not an issue since I have not shot alot of handguns is that it takes forever to cool down. I think it has to do with the polymer frame getting heat soaked and not dissipating like a metal frame would.
For a <$400 gun, I think this is a great choice for anyone not looking to break the bank and have a fun and simple gun to shoot whenever. No need to modify the trigger on this one, completely different setup than the cheaper sigma!
