Shot a local ICORE/pistol match yesterday and placed first of nine in open/unlimited division for the first time. I'd had a couple of 2nds and 3rds IIRC. 2nd of 78 overall. An open revolver shooter beat me by less than a second after 10 stages and 244 seconds total. LOL I was shooting a semi auto S&W CORE with an 28 round mag, whereas the winner was shooting an 8 shot revolver. So he had to reload at least 3 times more often than I and he still won overall. :D

at this match they had ICORE (revolver) divisions AND standard handgun divisions (Open, 1911, TRM, HiCap) shooting the same match. They do this because there isn't enough local interest to have an all-revolver ICORE-only match. There wouldn't be enough shooters.

So an ICORE Open revolver shooter is in a different division than a regular/semi-auto Open shooter.

So I won the standard/semi-auto "Open" division, but he won the "ICORE/Open" division, and beat my time overall

Congratulations!

We had an older shooter who would show up for our USPSA matches with a revolver/moon clips and would absolutely dust all the shooters.

He not only shot fast (not as fast as Jerry Miculek but fast enough), his moon clip changes were lightening fast.

When the stage scores were added up, even the open division guys were so far behind him (I shot limited at the time) it was embarrassing.
