Ive got a hpa fill station if you want it. I dont have my tanks anymore, and will probably replace rhem with a compressor and scba fiberwraps since my uncle services the airport and other fire departments.

I need to look around, but i may actually have a second hand pump......
No rush, the Benjamin fortitude is looking better to me, seems to shoot great to. Not the fastest and only makes about 20lb from what I've seen but for me that will work fine. The trigger can be lightened to under 2lb I like a 2 stage to.

Read so guys is parts from a 25cal to get more speed out of the 22, forget what they change or how much they get but nice the option is there. I like how the fill fitting is on the gun so it can't get lost. It's light to.

For 300 bucks i may have to try one. I dont really want a highpower small bore airgun, sub 50yds and an 20-25lb would probably be more than necessary. Less effort and better shot string than a heavier one too.

Just watched a video from Jefferson state airguns, he replaced the air valve and added the adjustable bolt spring of what ever it was from the Benjamin pistol. Was shooting 890 with 18gr had the regulator off I guess but still shot under 1/2" at 45 yards. Guy said you could add the reg back on and not lose fps.

yeah a reg will let you maximize your shots per charge and give you as flat a string as possible, but properly done you can balance your valve to do pretty much the same. having a rear velocity adjuster/hammer spring tensioner is a nice feature....I actually just found the one i made for thst carbine i sent you. It dosent work with the stock in place, but ill send it up in case you want it...well ill send it next time i send stuff.

Ok cool, neat how they use the spring to adjust the air flow.

The SCBA tanks are filled to 4500 psi, IIRC scuba is a bit different.
yeah, which is why i actually need a compressor. The dive shops only do 3200 tops, and i dont wanna pump another 1500psi into a buddy bottle lol.
The connectors are different also, so my SCUBA fill station wont wont on an scba tank.

Its a balancing game of mass, and velocity, vs pressure on the valve poppet, and the resistance of the valve spring.
Doing the dance is a lot easier when you have a regulator, otherwise you have to tune for a bell curve to get your best shot string. With a reg the string is flat, and much easier to tune for.

I see the gen 2 fortitude has the tunable hammer spring thing now, all the way out its like 10-12lb ad like 300 shots. All the way in its full power 20-21on and 50-60 shots.

Since JM called dibs on the scuba station, and i had to go find it, figured id grab some pictures of some of the other fill options while i was at it.

So this is a basic scuba fill station, it can be used to fill from any scuba tank to any bottle (is what i did), or with a hose directly to the gun. If you have a 3-4.5kpsi tank, and a lower psi gun, you have to pay attention to what you are doing, theres no auto stop.

This guys a co2 fill station. This will run from a almost any co2 tank, and you can buy modified fittings to attach to stuff like nitro, but that requires more modifications and usually regulati
If your running a co2 bottle with no siphon you can even use this as a remote system, but its not really meant for that.

This ones a co2, or paintball hpa, bottle remote system. Usually they have a longer hose, but i used to use a 20oz co2 bottle to fill my qb in the field and it was easier to carrie the short hose.
It attaches straight to the threads of a tank valve or reg, and you screw the handle in to depress the pin valve. IMG_20200703_191825.jpg IMG_20200703_191826.jpg

There are other fill mechanisms and gear, like SCBA stations, and pneumatic boosters etc, but those guys WERE the most common when i played paintball and did air smithing on a regular basis.

Thanks for the pics, the only fill station I've used was the fd for to fill are scba tanks, filled 5 at a time. Really wished I'd snagged a few after we replaced them one year, we had a smaller fill in two trucks as well. Can probably find used tanks somewhere cheap, but there's a reason they have a 3-5 year life span.

Yeah we ran a hydra at one of the paintball tournaments, but mostly we just ran a single and booster. The shop i filled my big tanks at used a hydra on their compressor, which was cool. fill 4 tanks at a shot.

You can re-hydro test tanks, my carbons were usually done every two years, my steels every 3. A HPA tank under a certain dia isnt required to hydro (2" i think, dont quote me), and most of the little pcp bottles qualify.

How many fills can you get from a suba tank when filling a pcp tank, just I could do the math and figure the cc to fill. Looks to only be $5-10 to fill a tank.
Really depends on the tank being filled. An on gun should get 5 or more, 2500psi+ fills. A larger 68cu etc. will only get 4 or 5, 2500+ from a 3000k filled 80cf........least thats what im remembering, its been a while.

Ok thanks,

Seems there definition for a air gun for hunting has changed here. Now it state's a air gun with 177 or larger going 600fps. So a 25 should be fine now but still think a 22 is best.
