First Post - 8mm on 550 using .308 Powder die?

I enjoy old bolt-action & semi's too. A REALLY NICE Egyptian Hakim with mirror-shiney bore & strong rifling just arrived, and I don't want to shoot corrosive surplus Yugo through it. I have a Dillon 550 used mostly for .223 & .308 tracers, to keep cost down. Never reloaded 8mm, but am halfway there since .308 shellplate & primer system are the same. A set of Lee dies are on the way. This won't be high quantity; maybe 100 per sitting

Does anyone here reload 8mm Mauser on their 550 using a Dillon .308 powder die? Just now threw some powder into a few Yugo 8mm cases with .308 powder die and it seemed to work fine. Could feel some barely noticable friction but didn't seem like anything to be concerned about; cases were un-resized. I could charge a case by pushing it up by hand (no lever) with the linkage unhooked. No use buying an 8mm powder die if this is a common cross-over solution. I'm new to reloading 8mm and seek constructive input here -
