Hello fellow gun owners....

I'm 22, business owner, multiple gun owner in CA, and I just purchased a beautiful AR. I currently have:

Synthetic Remington 870
Glock 22 (.40 cal)
Ruger Mini-14
Ruger Mk III target pistol 22LR
Remington 700 .223 scoped, bipodded
DSArms SA58 21" barrel

I've spent about 6-8 hours on this website over the last weekend lurking and gathering information....and that helped me to get an unbelievable deal this morning.

I called Chris at Lan World inc....great guy...and ordered the following:

Stag Model 6 Super Varminter
Caliber: 5.56 Nato Chamber
Upper: Forged and Mil Spec. Free Float Non-slip Aluminum Handguard. Low Profile Gas Block. 1/2 MOA
Trigger:2 stage Match with Hogue grip
Barrel: 24 " Stainless Steel Match Grade Bull Barrel
Magazine: 10 Round
Stock:A2 Stock
Includes life-time warranty and hard case

The only other manufacturer that guarantees 1/2 MOA is Les Baer, at a cost of around $2500.

This was +/- $1000, CA legal, shipped to my local FFL.

Thanks to everyone, and thanks to Chris at Lan World!!!

Is it guaranteed 1/2 MOA or advertised 1/2 MOA? So if you go out and punch MOA groups you can get your money back? I find that hard to believe, especially for an out of box AR.

Nice gun though, is it just a paper puncher or varmint shooter?

They bench the gun before it leaves the factory, shoot 1/2 MOA, then ship it with targets included.

For your 2nd question, it depends if the varmint is reading a newspaper or not.

Have fun with it...I'm building a 24" AR10.

What made you go with a 24" varmint AR over a 16" carbine?

I thought you couldn't have a semi automatic anything with a pistol grip?

They probably pinned the magazine in place. Fixed magazine semi-autos w/ 10-round (or smaller) mag. capacity can have scary features.

Nice looking AR and at a great price! Are you one of those tree huggers (all I see are synthetic stocks!)?

My Ruger Mk III has a cocobolo grip, so i'm not 100% synthetic....although it is more forgiving with scratches, dings, etc.

IIRC, you have to pull the aft pin on the upper, pivot the upper out of the way, and load the magazine from there. Sucks, but what else are you gonna do in Kali?

IIRC, someone was working on an upper for the AR that had a cut for stripper clips, but I know nothing else about it.

In Kali, I cannot imagine a better "Evil" rifle than an M14 clone. You can use it in its proper configuration, almost unadulterated. I'm a huge fan of the FAL, but if I was a Kali resident and I had a choice between a fixed-mag FAL and an M14, I would pick an M14 every day of the week and twice on weekends.

From what I've seen I believe the general way to get around the removable magazine California thing with an AR is with a "bullet button". Basically the mag release button is replaced with a button that only has a very small round part in the center that presses in... too small for your fingers. You press it in with the tip of a bullet and it counts as a "tool" meaning it's technically not a removable magazine.

Yes, this gun has the "bullet button" mod, so the mag is detachable, it just requires a "tool" to do it. As for my FAL, I load it through the ejector port...no big deal...overall I'm dealing with Kali's gun laws pretty well. At least I can have a handgun, unlike some east coast cities.....
