The last time I shot a rifle for fun was 42 years ago. Methinks it is time to start again. Here is my criteria:
1. no semi-automatics; I prefer the fun of a pump action, lever or bolt.
2. accuracy not a big issue as I assume most current production models are reasonably accurate
3. plinking only; most likely a .22lr
4. good looking wood stock
5. capable of being left to grandchildren
In this set of requirments I have considered the Rremington 504 (bolt), the Marlin 39A (lever) and Taurus 62 (pump).
Any thoughts on those or other suggestions?
