Very happy with this rifle. Extremely accurate. Got her dialed in with six rounds. First two at 25 yds and then final zero at 100 yds. Right on the money. 2.8 inches high at 100 yds. I used my lead sled. This rifle has the Accubrake.
I took a little off the sear engagement, gently polished the mating surfaces, and liberally greased it- MUCH better, but then mine is a 1st Gen. Supposedly the newer ones only have a resistance adjustment, but they are supposed to be a big improvement over the early ones anyway. There always a Timney, lol.
It's an awesome round. I love mine although it's in a Mark V. Flat shooting and it really carries a lot of energy downrange. It's a bit spicy but I don't mind that in a hunting rifle.
How’s recoil with that brake? Worst recoil I have ever felt in my life was from a Weatherby Vanguard in 300 Weatherby Mag. It belonged to a buddy of mine and he asked me to come shoot it for him to confirm that it wasn’t accurate. I put three rounds into a clover leaf at 200 yards and told him I’d never shoot it again. Stood back and watched him shoot it and the accuracy issue became quite apparent. This guy was literally closing his eyes and tensing every muscle in his body in anticipation of recoil. That rifle was not pleasant to shoot at all.
I’ve got a pair of Ruger No, 1s in 300 Win Mag and I don’t feel like recoil is bad for either of them. I wouldn’t want to sit around for hours burning powder with either of them, but they aren’t painful to shoot. That 300 Weatherby experience was a decade ago. Maybe I need to give another one a chance.
300 Wby was my worst recoil experience - between the recoil and the shocking report - very unpleasant but I may also be a bit of a sissy.
