First time today shooting my ASM Remington & new 1860 Colt. Shot the old Taurus conicals that came with the Remington and one load of round balls. It shot both about 6"s low but straight on and grouped about 4"s off hand at 20 yards. For my shooting skill thats pretty good for first time. The Colt was dead on point of aim and same size groups. If I was looking for a first gun I would say of the two the Remington is easier to load as you can readily take it apart and load the cylinder. The Colt just feals more natural in the hand. Also with this gun came an old bottle of Pyrodex P and the seller said it was over 20 years old. I loaded one cylinder with it to test and it fired just fine. I tried two more full loads and it worked great. Much dirtier than the pioneer powder though. When it gets warmer will post more on differant loads. Lots of fun. Twogun1975
