Ruger considers critical parts like hammers to be "factory installation ONLY" and refuse to sell them on the open market.
Since even modern revolvers like the Ruger often require at least some fitting of parts, I'd just send the gun in to Ruger and have them fit a new hammer.
Ruger will fit a brand new hammer, it'll be done RIGHT, and at a good price.
Remember, often used parts are being sold because they have problems, and you might wind up spending money on a defective part.
"...a DA/SA hammer that was originally DAO..." A what? The GP has never been DAO, so there's no such thing. You could have a smithy take the SA notch out though. However, if it's a new GP, Ruger may decide it voids their unwritten warrantee.
There were a few GP100s that were made for the Montreal Police that have been imported back to the States that were made in DAO. This gun just so happens to be one.
I called them up and they wanted about 25 for the hammer 25 to put it in and 20 or so to ship it back. With 25 to ship it to them, that is about 100 more than I can spend right now.
