how many of you like to carry fixed blades everyday? i seem to sell quite a few of them, yet almost never see anyone carry anything other than a folder. with the correct sheath set-up, i find them faster to deploy and more comfortable. kinda like the difference in a short, thick carry gun and a larger pistol with slim width dimensions. thoughts?

yes I do most days. Either on the belt or in a boot.

Small 3 inch I made. Great tool. Last ditch SD if my situational awareness fails. God forbid it never happens.

I've carried a small (2-3/8") fixed blade since I made the bugger back in Fall 2005. Been a very faithful companion, with pocket clip sheath... Worn out the leather once so far... :)

I don't carry it because I need a fixed blade, but because I don't make folders.... The last year has also seen a Kershaw Leek in the weak side pocket. I like'em both and use whichever one seems handiest at the moment.

I carry 'em as tools, not SD weapons, though they would work nicely in such service should the need arise....

i really like that clip design. very nice. i know what you mean about running through leather sheaths. i am on my second clip sheath with my latest pocket knife. i would go kydex, but i can't see that being very comfortable as an inside-the pocket carry. this is my latest EDC and clip sheath.

Very nice!

Quick, 10 geek points to the first person (other than the owner) who can identify both the weapons in the image!

The pistol appears to be one of the Witness Elite Comp's The knife on the other hand, I am afraid I do not know. It is a good lookin' blade though.

I have two that are my go to blades...

What is usually in my pocket..

Unless I think I might need a little larger knife..

The only folder I carry anymore is a SAK.

i like the leather work, Todd. i make sheaths for my knives, but i have never been accused of being good at it. i make knives, leather is a necessary evil.

Both of those are from Sharpshooter Sheath Systems.

The knifemaker wasn't doing sheaths with firesteel slots/loops when I bought my knives.

No geek points for me.
Nice knife in that pic though.

I do not carry a fixed blade, but need to research the TN statutes regarding knives to see what's up with fixed carry.

Todd im a bit of a knife noob what brand knives are those?
im looking for one exactly like the smaller model

no geek points for me i know the pistol is an EAA but the knife i cant identify other than its awesome looking

Geek?

Well . . . I'll call the pistol an EAA Witness, Heavy Barrel Limited, in either 10 mm or .45 ACP.

Let's call it a .45, just on the odds.

The knife?

That's a fine piece of work.

I think I may have discovered what that's called. I will hold off on that until some others have a whack at it. How about an obscure movie reference? "There are _____ in the corn, and there's a gathering _____."

Those were made by JK Handmade Knives. He only works with O1 or 1095,no stainless, and they are not as pretty as other custom makers out there. (And not priced as high)

But John makes tough ,hard use knives. I like them.

Another thread with a THR member's duplicate of my knife..

It's never been an option for me, out here in CA, seeing as I like that my knife to be concealable.

It seems to me that conceal-ability is rather important, when going places that may be unfriendly to these sorts of things. I don't have to leave my knife in the car if I go, say, into the bank, even if someone does see it, for some reason, people are much less inclined to freak out over a pocket knife than a fixed blade.

This is what I carry everyday, it is one of mine. I live in a small farming town so people are not freaked out by Black handle Fix blade.

Carry a just under 3" bladed fixed blade every day , have for many years , first it was a BM210 , then a Rinaldi Matrix and now one of my EDFU models:

It gets plenty of use.
