Fixed or Flip-Up Rear BUIS?

Do y'all think I should get fixed or flip-up rear BUIS for an Aimpoint Micro T-1?

My understanding is that the argument in favor of fixed sights, is that you don't have to fumble around in case your optics go down.

While for the flip-up, I suppose it is to do with their interference with the red dot picture, and I should think they are more compatible with night vision.

I like flips i dont care for a sight post or apature in my sight picture with electonics. Good flips are fast to use and reliable.

I like fixed BUIS. But I dont use my EOTech very often. Its harder to shoot with irons, so I practice more with them. The EOTech makes it too easy IMO.

Flip up. I would get one with a locking detent so that once you make the decision to flip it up, it stays upright if you are on the move. Make sure you can co-witness with your rear sight.

I only want a flip BUIS if I need it to clear under a scope. Fixed BUIS eliminates 1 more potential failure point.

I cannot for the life of me understand this "co-witness" business.

Evidently some "respected member" of the tac-ti-cool community insists that you are nothing but a disgusting fat-body unless you co-witness.

To me, I have no use for a redundant sighting device interfering with my field of view.

Definitely the flip-ups. I've got a set of the DPMS flip-ups on a carbine with an Aimpoint Micro T-1, I like the setup, however, with the rear sight flipped up it actually sits fairly low in the bottom of the scope. While this doesn't hamper the use of the sights, it's kind of annoying, and isn't something I'd want to have to look at every time I try to get a sight picture.

I have fixed on my favorite AR, but I'd like to get a set of Troys on there.

Definately flip up. The whole point of buis is that you need a backup not a fixed sight, that would be your optic imho.
